    Hell no.

But wouldn't turn a world class striker if one was willing to come to us. We have to money just not the league position to target the very best at the moment. Erdinc doesn't excite me like some of the other names banded around have, but he's better than what we have.

I can't say I'm impressed about Mevlut Erding, but I'm more than happy we're looking to bring in about 6 players. The only thing is, I bet some of those signings are to replace outgoing players i.e. Enrique.

What happened to the talk of us being after Shane Long?

Could be, but both Cabaye and Barton should be more than capable cover, although I guess moving them to cover him leaves us weaker in attack. A quick google shows that he's been linked with Arsenal a lot, and of course Liverpool this window too.

I know what you mean, but as you said earlier, progress is progress - until we have european football, the only way we could attract that caliber of player is to offer stupid wages and pay too much money, that's what got us into this mess in the first place.

Honestly, I reckon we'll be gunning for a Carling/FA Cup win next year, and if every single bit of luck we can manage to scrape together falls into place, theres no reason we can't get it. A recent trophy win and a european spot would see us back in the 2nd tier of attractiveness (Manure, City, L'Arse, Chelski, Bin Dippers...Then us!)

Admittedly the prospect of Gameiro and Gervinho was much more exciting than Erdinc and Zog, but they're an improvement either way so it's all good.
Roll on next season already please.

Thats typical isnt it! ****ing agents. Hate them with a passion. They're so unnecessary, or are footballers just becoming so thick they need a ****er to actually broker a contract?

Far too many footballers are as thick as two short planks. They grew up only wanting to play football and ignored most academic studies.

I used to work with a guy who made it up to the reserve team level for Forest but he was dropped when he was 18. He started out doing veg prep and washing up in the kitchen as he wasn't qualified for anything and had no idea of a career path.

I trained him up over a period of two years to become a chef and eventually he got his C&G qualifications.

He was only just literate and his numeracy skills were shocking. We went out a few times with some of his mates from Forest and they were just the same.

Not really impressed with Erdinç. Seems like a real step down from the likes of Gameiro and Gervinho. You would think that for a striker to perform reasonably well here, he'd have to do very well in Ligue 1. So if he scored 20+ over there, he might get around 15 here. Less goals against better players, but still good.

With Erdinç though, he scored 15 in 31 last year and then 8 in 22 this season just gone, so for him to be the kind of firepower we'd need, he would have to score MORE by moving to the EPL. Seems like a lot to ask.

His international record worries me as well. It's often where a player can play against some very high quality opposition, and he's managed 1 goal in 10 attempts.

Slightly worrying, if I'm honest, but I just hope Pards and Carr see some qualities in the guy which means that he could be more suited for the EPL and play better.

Erdinc..... hardly the 'mega transfer' that the Journal stated.

Probably worth a punt though. He's a good player.

    Hardly mouth watering though

£25 million would get us...Cabaye, Ba, Taylor, Erdinc and N'Zogbia! I'd be over the moon with that. Then if Enrique goes we can sign Cheikh M'Bengue. That means we would have around £15 million left for some squad improvements!

I'll be more than happy if we sign Le Zog, can't under estimate the importance of the player actually wanting to join the club.

Graeme Bailey has slated Erding on twitter, not a good sign.

Blaise Matuidi, N'Zogbia & Ba on a free transfer would be very good signings. <ok>

    Erding is rubbish.

I think if they get Ba and Chelsea move for Sanchez that we may just stick a bid in for Sturridge.

I'd rather spend £15mil on him than £10mil on Erding.

Not convinced by Erdinc and worried about Ba's knee.

Erdinc only scored 8 goals last season!

However , I will be over the moon if we can get N'Zogbia back.

    WE need the Zog back!!

I hope Edrinc doesn't want to come here, not really impressed at all.

As for Podolski he's too old and doesn't fit into our current policy.

Ba's knee held up at the end of last season and i honestly don't think the club will be stupid enough to dismiss the concerns that Pulis had. The last thing they will want is another Michael Owen regardless of the fee.

I'm fully optimistic that they will take a long hard look at his knee issues and if there is any doubt they'll go elsewhere.

For me it's a good bit of business, free transfer for someone who can score and has a good physical presence. Also free's up cash to make a big striker signing.
