So looking at the tables... Groups A,B,C,D, & F are complete. Of those only Cameroon, Australia, and Japan (GD) did worse than England. Of the groups remaining... South Korea and Hondorous will probably do worse. Portugal OR Ghana could finish worse too- although a draw will make them higher than England. So out of 32 nations- England finished the tournament somewhere between 26th and 28th. (depending on outcome of next few days). Could be as low as 29th if there are upsets left in the tournament.
We're the worst Europeans... Unless Portugal lose! I think we were ranked 10th at start of World Cup. After world cup, if no one else moves (and they will)- we will be ranked 17th... dropping 7 places. We were 5th when Capello left us 2 years ago. 17th is calculated from formula on FIFA's own web-site but ignores changes in coefficient from other clubs... other clubs will move up and down too- so we'll probably be between 15th and 20th.
Roy Hodgson is following in Moyes's footsteps as a record breaker. First exit at group stages in over 50 years. Lowest goal tally ever for England. Lowest ranking England has ever had in world cup (previously 13th) Now somewhere between 26th and 29th. Almost certainly see England's biggest drop in a month (current record 6 spots fallen- expected to fall 7 spots) Potentially could see England drop more places in the World rankings in under 3 years than has ever happened before... keeping eye on that record. (current record 13 places) Also... potentially England could drop out of top 20 in the world for first time in 19 years.
Sakho has played well for France every time I have seen him. Solid, with very incisive distribution to the midfield.
Many will say who cares but the reality is if the euros go as expected England could find itself second seed or worse in World Cup qualifying and worse unseeded in the next World Cup finals These ranking matter
Not just Winterfell and the North; Heir to the whole kingdom according to most of the theories floating around. All the quotes in the first season and book about "looks just like Ned's sister". Ned's sister's final words being "promise me Ned"- Ned's sister having been kidnapped (and presumably forced into marriage by the Targaryan dude). Ned being the most flat-character in the whole book-singleminded about being honourable... and yet, as a newlywed, brings home a bastard? It hasn't been revealed who Jon is in the book or on TV- but he's obviously NOT a bastard from all the clues in Season 1, and all clues point that he is likely the heir to the kingdom.
I had heard that theory but I shall remain sceptical till its revealed, the best way to deal with RR Martin (that and not getting attached to characters)
Something happens in book 5 that backs up the theory that everyone put forward after book 1 about who Jon Snow is. (won't say what don't want to spoil it for people watching the show) ... Unless George R.R. Martin had heard about to theory floating around and wanted to screw with everyone making us try to believe it even more.
