Red Bull: Note the new pod vane mounts to a line that sweeps down to alongside the exhaust exit, keeping it in check

A better look at McLarens new front vanes as well

JB: Yesterday didn't quite go 2 plan but the important thing is the car feels good, Friday P1/2 in Melbourne going 2 b a little busy me thinks!!

Given that I've never heard of them they must be a reliable source. <laugh>

In fairness if he has another bad year at Mclaren I can see it happening!

Hamilton wanted Rosberg at McLaren didn't he? I think they're quite good friends and that may well mean something to Hamilton. Norbert Haug thinks highly of him, too. As weird as it sounds, him never having driven for anyone else, Hamilton hasn't always seemed entirely happy at McLaren since their spat prior to his F1 debut. It'd surely take an exceptionally good year for Mercedes in 2012 to lure him away, though.

I think Button's form last year got to him a lot more than he let on. They may have the outward appearance of friends but there is a lot of underlying tension there I feel. Another good season for Button and Hamilton could well be out of there, and I can't exactly see him teaming up with Alonso again.

The Force India's not looking as nice as I thought. First two stints of a race sim, both on medium, saw Hulkenberg lose two seconds in eight laps then three seconds in ten laps. Third stint, now on softs, doing similar lap times, seems to be holding up a bit better.

Can we deduce from this that the new front wing is channelling the airflow to everywhere?

Surely having paint being sucked into the engine and brake cooling isn't going to help the situation, especially when its designed to stick to surfaces.
Wonder if Alosno got any hi-vis to the face...

Been occupied by Newcastle match so far today, can someone catch me up on anything relevent that has happened so far today. Seems like it has been a bad day for Red Bull.

One of the most intriguing things for me is that Vettel broke his front wing where the pylons meet the lateral front edge and instead of the front of it falling down the back of it fell up.

Hmm maybe these are not just wires for sensors like they keep insisting they are.
