So it's Sunday, and since there arn't any REAL decent teams playing... back to this league...

First with Lucaspool: After their cup loss to Real Mad Skrtel some negative morale is beginning to creep in:

(not sure why some have different star ratings and some are flagged as "Yth" when they're all identical clones)

Since this is Biscantinople's first appearance I'll show the team line-up:

    (Full of Biscanty goodness)

The bookies have hometeam Biscantinople as 5-7 favourites. Lucaspool's odds are 7-4

DISASTER!!!! In the 5th minute Lucaspool put the ball in the net- some great teamwork and passing from Lucaspool- a cross from the left is volleyed home from outside the box.

Anyone else think Lucas looks a lot like Biscan here? Could Lucas be Biscan's illegitimate son?
In less than a minute we're back on level terms- Lucas allows Biscan to run free in the box from a corner- a header from just across the line gives Biscan reason to cheer!

This is the 2nd time in two games that Lucaspool have lost an early lead. Can they get back on top and pound Biscan into submission?
Lucas kicks off and wastes no time sticking the ball back in Biscan's box. Biscan throws Lucas to the floor... Oooooh Penalty:

It is a tame kick that rebounds off the post. Biscan clears for a corner. It is a real even end-to-end game. Both players waste chances but by half time we are level at 2-2. First Lucas scores- then Biscan comes from behind again to level it up.
Both really tame goals through the middle that a decent keeper would have saved. It's a fairly even game- but Biscantinople look the more motivated side.

That extra motivation proves critical as Biscantinople finally takes the lead in the 55th minute- some great midfield linkage.

In less than 4 minutes we're back even again... some really sloppy goalkeeping from Igor. He had two clear chances to catch the ball and fumbled it both times before Lucas slotted it in.

2 Minutes later Lucas scores a stunner from distance. Igor tries to come back into the game and has a couple of good shots save by Lucas. Lucas's keeping is looking decidedly better now- the keeper quality seems to be the deciding factor here. As time is running out- Lucas's keeper makes a couple more good saves... perhaps we should consider Lucas as backup for Reina? Or maybe even Reina as backup for Lucas?

Sadly the thriller had to end- and it ends in favour of Lucas 3-4. A very even game- Lucas had more possession but Biscan had more shots on target. Super keeper Lucas proved to be the deciding influence in this game. Although for some reason he was only given a match rating of 6.3... probably because of the 3 soft goals he allowed in... but if you ignore those- at the tail end of the game he was brilliant.

Anyone who doubts that Igor and Lucas are brilliant read-below... they make for the epitome of the beautifull game!

Following this game- I set all the managers to vacation to let the computer simulate the rest of the round 1 league games without me:

Reinager's lose 1-5 at home to Paris St. Gerrard. According to the after match report- particulary impressive were Steven Gerrard, Steven Gerrard and Steven Gerrard- and they'll be keeping Steven Gerrard, Steven Gerrard and Steven Gerrard out of the team. Reinagers is currently having financial trouble and so may soon let some of the Reina clones go.

Carragher loses by a single goal to the rampant Real Mad Skrtel. Skrtel will be delighted to have won both games on the road so far this season.

With everyone having played one league game- this is how the table looks: (I'm unsure why Reina is showing as below El Zhar despite the better GD)
