    Fair enough.

However I think Skrtel will stay, as will Downing.

I do think Reina will go but we have his replacement anyway.

If/when Pepe does go I still think we need a better second keeper.

If that falls through I hear Gerard Depardieu is looking for a new club.

His wages would be too high. Wouldn't want to lose out to the 50% top tax rate.

Everso slightly annoyed about this one. I like the signing, but its got shades of the Ziege signing all over it (tapping up).

Does no-one at the club never learn? We might be 'negotiating' with Shaktar now, but if we've been talking to Henrikh's agent before we spoke to the club, how the hell to we hold the moral high ground in dealing with Suarez and Real?

It's all this third party ownership stuff though I presume? Two parties who hold partial contract rights rather than just the club. I do agree though that we really have little room for complaint.

I think the situation with HM is that his club have set a price for Liverpool to meet to begin negotiating with the player himself.

The club can still talk to his agent about prospective fees, what they want from the deal etc, without Shaktar agreeing to a fee - just like Real can with Luis.

It only becomes tapping up when the club officials talk to the player himself about a transfer, without the permission of his club.

    I think that's right.

Everyone seems obsessed with needing a back up for Sturridge, a target man to hold the ball up and play on the last defenders shoulders.
Most Premiership teams have a defence designed to cope in some way with this.
Barcelona and Spain don't really have a player like this
Maybe 3/4 players that are quick, have good ball control and can find the killer passes and make the runs is the way BR is looking at it
A big man to challenge a big defender is all well and good, he way win a far percentage af a ball, but much easier to have the possesion and pass it round them

Spain play with a false 9 but then use Torres, Negredo and Llorente as impact subs.

    I never said we were.

I was just pointing out that Spain do have strikers like that.

Not specifying a type, I just think we are completely lacking in a striker.

Once Suarez has gone, its just Sturridge and Borini, of which the 2nd is questionable. The likes of Coutinho, Aspas, Alberto, Borini are all forwards, who can mainly play out wide or behind a striker.

  18. Sorry JK, that wasn't directly at you, it was for most of the board. I see people constantly comparing us to thoae sides but I couldn't give a **** what they're doing, I care what we are doing.

BR clearly doesn't like a target man (although he had Danny Graham at Swansea), nor does he like players that can only play one position.

My concern is not having a proper striker to deputize Sturridge of such. It is more a concern about who will score the goals if Sturridge is out and Suarez leaves.
