What do you mean our club value him at 10m? There's no proof of that anywhere. Don't tell me you believe everything you read? some reports have said we value him at 7.5m and others have said 15m and everything inbetween. Don't be so naive.

 

Why all the Reina bashing and how do Sunderland/bitters have the right to say he's over rated.

Some stats this season:

Goal keeper of the year (God only knows how) De Gea, managed 11 clean sheets this season. Funnily enough the same as Mignolet.
Reina finished joint 2nd with Cech, managing 14 clean sheets each. Both trailed behind Hart with 18 though.

So yeah, Reina the 3 times golden glove and runner up this season is crap....

I hope we are getting Mignolet as a back up for him. If not, disasterous business.

 

Statistics can say what ever you want, depends how you present them, so lets take your stats and add this to it.

Liverpool, average shots against per game- 10.08
Sunderland, average shots against per game- 14.37

Liverpool, shots against on target 56.66%
Sunderland, shots against on target 58.06%

So by taking your stats and mine and putting them together you can see which keeper has been more busy yet managed to maintain a very good clean sheet total.

 

Actually every report I have seen on Mignolet have him valued at £9-10m. What you're saying is all these reporters and newspapers are wrong, and that you know more than them?

Accepting that your club value him at £10m will only make things a lot easier when he does leave for that fee...

 

tbf you're right. But we also have to consider the Glen Johnson factor and Rodgers lets not defend tactics.

 

So your basis of it being a side step is that both clubs will be playing in the same competitions? So you think someone moving from Crystal Palace to Liverpool would also be a side step? Surely going from a team battling relegation to a team challanging for Europe is a step up

Have people lost their minds? Why are we agreeing that Reina is overrated and average?

He is ****ing top class, that's why the mancs have sniffed around him and barca want him too - if he leaves we will feel the affect believe me

 

He's an important part of our team and is one of more vocal people in the dressing room. His distribution has always been and still is top drawer, but his performances have dropped over the last two years from the high standards he set himself under Rafa. Small errors have crept more and more into his game, although he picked it up again towards the end of the last season.

I like Pepe alot and will be sad to see him leave, but if he wants to leave for a new challenge (and lets be honest, who wouldn't leave at their peak if Barca come knocking) then this is a good deal altogether.

My concern with Mignolet is his distribution. The amount of times Pepe would start off counter attacks with accurate throws to the halfway was staggering. We'll really miss that.

 

I've got no problem with him going to barca, that's his dream at the end of the day and I'd wish him the very best of luck and hope he wins everything with them.

I know he hasn't been at his absolute best last 2 years but who has?

 

This... but I'd rather we had a safe keeper than one that occasionally helps us counter.

 

Apparently Honda is out of contract at CSKA Moscow. Wouldn't be a bad free signing.

 

Everton are chasing him at least. No idea why we're not interested, he's a good player
