covered the Coates one mito in assume its a loan same as pacheco which is why value is £0, also Jones will go nowhere, isn't he tied to along contract as well.

Downings value is reasonable, and what would you value Suarez and Skrtl at then?

also i did say it was probably bull but hypothetically speaking how would fellow reds feel about it, ie the loss of Suarez but those players coming in.

You can't loan someone and then say he's one out with one coming in. his wages still have to be paid.

pacheco is not on loan his deal is up i think so he's on a free.

thats my two cents.

not sure i follow you,

wouldn't the club loaning him pay his wages, so it would be no cost to the club, that was my understanding of what was meant anyway.

yeah it depends.

nobody at a "small club" wants to pay 50k in wages to a loanee... now coates can't be on that but it just goes to show.

west ham paid 2mil for carroll for one year but only a portion of his wages.

if we loans coates we couldhope that we could get at least half his wages paid... thats not one guy out and therefore on can come in.

7. But we also wanted to loan Carroll out. If we had half a mind to keep him then I don't think WHU would have got him on those terms, especially considering we only had Suarez and a newly arrived Borini to call upon beyond Andy.

yeah but senior players v young players i guess.

campbell or wellbeck got loans out... i dunno.

we paid 4mi lfor sahin who didn't want to even come.. whats that all about?

I thin kwe are looking for a prem club for coates or if we want to sell a foreign club neededing a CB and sending the guy out. in that case is zero up fornt fee but i'd hope who wants him wants him to play 30 odd games and will pay full wages... but would a norwich pay 30k per week for a young kid who's not showing he can cut it in england?

I reckon we'll pay some of his wages.

anyway....

coates out is not equal to say toby in in terms of wages! it just can't be. so its not one out one in.

carra v toure yes probably but not coates

9. As I said, depends how much we want the player. In all likeliness, if we don't want the player then he's not been good enough and won't interest too many big payers. Its a bit like the old saying of "the only way is down from a club like X", this is true because the likes of us and Man Utd are at the top in this country (not so much as recently). Other than the likes of Real, Barca, Milan, Inter, Juve, etc, where is a player going to go from one of us that is an improvement? there are only a handful that would be deemed a step up but there are hundreds if not thousands of clubs that are a step down.

Like Paletta befroe him, Coates isn't proving to be good enough. If we sell him then we sell him at a loss because it looks **** to the outsiders looking in. Same applies to wages / loans.

Read something today which made me think...

Robben & Torres are both the same age 29. Couple of months in it.

Am I alone in that I would have guessed Torres was 4/5 yrs younger?

Man! You baldies look old! :)

got you, keep forgetting we have players still on stupid wages.

so Coates,Downing and Carroll are all going to be a pane in the arse to shift then, and Jones i doubt we can give away.

Going back to Lamela - he would be a seriously good signing. Scored quite a few goals this season and that's from playing as a winger.

yes.... but also even on loan out you cannot say as they do that he can go out and someone else can be bought and its no extra wage cost to us.

the other point is 10 in 10 ou for 0 is not possible as 81 doesn't equal 81... there's pay offs to players leaving like carroll and signing on fees etc on the way in.

I think myself that much will start to become clear in july as the tours start but the final pieces of this jigsaw will be late in august.

Brendan Rodgers willing to cut losses on Welsh midfielder.
Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is prepared to sell midfielder Joe Allen for the right price in this summer’s transfer window, it has emerged.

The 23-year-old has not impressed for the Reds since joining for £15million from Swansea last summer, where he had shone under Rodgers, looking somewhat out of his depth at a bigger club with higher expectation.

Liverpool are understood to be looking for improvements in that part of the pitch, with former star Xabi Alonso being linked with a return to Anfield from Real Madrid, as they seek a more dynamic partner for the likes of Steven Gerrard and Lucas Leiva in the middle of the park.

Despite being dubbed ‘the Welsh Xavi’ by Rodgers on joining him at Liverpool from Swansea, the Wales international has only scored two goals and provided no assists in an unconvincing attempt to become the team’s main playmaker.

It is thought that he would welcome a return to Swansea, following what is likely to be the same decision by Manchester City’s Scott Sinclair, who has also flopped at his new club since leaving the Liberty Stadium last summer.

However, it is not clear if the Swans would be willing to pay Liverpool’s £8million asking price, nor Allen’s inflated wages. Current manager Michael Laudrup has done well to bring in signings on the cheap from abroad, and is likely to continue this policy rather than return to a former player who would demand more money following a spell at a bigger club.

In a somewhat controversial move, it is thought that newly-promoted Cardiff City could look to offer Allen an escape route from Anfield. The Welsh side, who have a rivalry with fellow Wales team Swansea, are expected to make some big signings upon their promotion to the Premier League, backed by their wealthy Malaysian owners. They may be better-placed to meet Liverpool’s asking price as well as Allen’s wages.

Cardiff have also been linked with the likes of former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou, as well as another Welshman in Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey, though Allen would be seen as a good alternative as the Gunners are unlikely to sell their young midfielder.

---------------------

Taken from the Swans board, so probably bs.

18. In hindsight, do you see Assaidi as a good deal? It was only £3m so a lot of people said it wasn't really a gamble but its still cost the club £4m+ (considering wages)

Cant see that happening. Be shame if it did though. As much as I've joked about him I think (if fit) he could come good. He was immense at the beginning of season.
