Can't see this. Why buy Gomez when we have a younger version already at the club that BR wants rid of?

Having said that, Gomez isn't as old as I thought. For some reason, I thought he was about 31 or 32 but he's only 27. Carroll is 24 and I can't see him getting to Gomez's level within three seasons.

Still not keen mind, especially for £16,244,240

 

Scored a lot of goals last season but so would Heskey playing in that team. He's a good player, but he's the complete opposite of a 'BR player'.

 

Contrary to what RHC said too, I wouldn't mind Gomez at the right price.

They are not even comparable! Gomez is one of the worlds best goalscorers, Carroll is today's answer to Duncan Ferguson!

I'd love him as he guarantees goals but I'm not convinced he is what we need and he isn't someone that Rodgers would buy as he doesn't get involved in the build up play and doesn't really link up with his fellow attacking players. The possession game BR wants to play requires everyone to contribute and being able to use the ball in tight areas, don't think Gomez can do that.

Pretty much what Lucaaaaaaaaaaaaas said. Gomez is a great player, no doubt, but he doesn't really fit into what BR claims to be looking for - unless he's planning on directly replacing Carroll with a better option? A plan B who actually scores goals? But then, why would Gomez move to a non-european football team to be a second option...

For many reasons, I can't see this one. Not under BR.

No, they're not. Carroll just turned 24 and Gomez is almost 28. It's like when people compared Lucas to Alonso. Stupid comparison.

OMG, I've just heard that Carlton Cole has been released by West Ham. It can't be, can it...?

 

German Andy Carroll. I'm a huge fan but I dont see him as a Rodgers player.

Roy tried to sign him.

 

Poor Carlton. He was linked with us in the Rafa days.

He is not up to our standards but I do like Cole and feel a bit sorry for him.
