Bendtners better. ------------ Would be more than happy with both of them, and if we can get Moses too then I'll be a lot more optimistic. Would prefer a permanent move for Moses as opposed to a loan move, he'll never get a start at the Chavs either so he may be more open to the idea of this.
Moses is a better option off the bench than Downing - so for a year loan, sure, snap him up. Buying him though? Not sure he's worth it.
I'd be more than happy with Ilori, Sahko and Moses.. We'd have a very competitive squad. Even with just two of them.
If this all happens, IMO: Sakho > or at least = Skrtel Mignolet > or at least = Reina Ilori > Coates Aspas > Downing Alberto > Shelvey Toure > Carra (on the field) Moses > Assaidi Obviously Reina and Skrtel can be very good on form and we don't know what Sakho and Simon will do. Aaaand although we are definitely getting a better squad this summer, it is disappointing not to add one more big hitter - but hey, we are improving, if slowly.
According to French broadcaster beIN Sport, Paris St Germain have agreed to sell unsettled defender Mamadou Sakho to Liverpool for €23million (£19.6m). The broadcaster's chairman is Nasser al Khelafi, who is also the chairman of PSG, while Sakho has been left out of the squad for Saturday's game against Guingamp. by Mark Buckingham 7:16 PM Sounds promising but we've heard it all before. Fingers crossed Also Chelsea are close to signing Atsu so will this allow Moses to come to us on loan?
that is patently false... well i'd be very surprised if we shell that out on a central defender in our state. we could be again being used by a club to force the real transfer to AC through.
so anyway to enter the spirit of the thing... yeah things as stated all an "improvement" player for player. Sakho > or at least = Skrtel... is he? skertl is decent but not dominant and hes a sweeper. this guy sounds good but sounds also a bit of a joker too.... Mignolet > or at least = Reina ..... sorry but this aint true and peoepl will be looking at reina for many years proving it time after time. Minger is fine no issue with his shot stopping but he aint a patch on reina at sweeping up or passing. Ilori > Coates..... coates was a big let down for me so i don't know if this is at all true. you can't say llori is amazing yet. Aspas > Downing... who would not be? Alberto > Shelvey Agreed par se but i think alberto needs 6 months to settle. Toure > Carra (on the field) this is very true and i think off the field too. Moses > Assaidi this is also true and if he does come i hope we agree a nice cheap buying fee too. nobody even put caroll down who was the biggest sale and that shows something... useless muppet..... well all in all the thing is going to be how we find consistency. our first 11 is actually obvious and settled so its about options coming on and i am not sure yet we've got them. moses coming on and aspas coming on will be options along with sterling. allen offers something too... sorry but he does.
Must......not.....be.....drawn......into......spec...u...lation. Wait.....for....leaning.....pictures!
And now this which seems a done deal?... Liverpool sign defender Tiago Ilori for £8m from Sporting. Player travelling to England now for a medical. More @ http://Mirrorfootball.co.uk 12:47 PM - 30 Aug 2013 And on sky website.... Liverpool could be closing in on another signing as Sky Sports sources understand they have agreed a fee in the region of £8million with Sporting Lisbon for defender Tiago Ilori. The 20-year-old was also a summer target for Monaco and Valencia, but Ilori is believed to be on his way to Anfield along with his father to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.
If true, £19.6m is a fair whack for any player, its massive for a CB! Can't see us paying that sort of money, especially when we need others too.
BBC reporting that Sakho & Ilori are due in England for their medicals in next 24 hours then. We need CB's and Sakho has got a good reputation for a young player. Don't know why everyone is concerned that he's left footed and would have to play on the right hand side if he played with Agger, most teams have 2 right footed CB's and doesn't seem to cause them issues? Keown & Adams, Vidic & Ferdinand, Hyypia & Carragher etc. Possibly Given on loan for a year. As long as we aren't paying a very high wage for him then think he'll be good back up.
BBC saying in region of £13mil which seems much more realistic. No way we'd spend close to £20mil on a 23 year old CB who isn't a 1st choice at his current club.
27 million on CB's? I'd have to take back my not spending money criticism lol. What about a LW!!!!! I demand it!
