That's harsh on Pennant IMO. I rate Pennant, he just needs to feel wanted. He was great for us for eighteen months and on the verge of an England call-up until he fell out with Rafa
To be fair Pennant looked half decent at Anfield and he did yesterday when he came on. For me, Pennant is the best we have (on his day) but it's like we've signed a new player as he fell out with Pulis. Maybe Assaidi and Pennant can operate together. What we DO HAVE tbh Walters/Jones and to some extent Crouch simply are not good enough. Thanks for the imput we're also linked with Guidetti I guess we'll know soon enough.
Like I said he's similar to Pennant, probably not as good, and on a par with your other attacking players. He will add pace but not alot else, his crossing (lack of) is why he's not made it with us. However he would be an extra player for a position you seem to be lacking in and come Christmas that could prove to be important. Your big problem however is Walters, why does he insist on taking Pens when he is **** at them?
To be fair I'm not, never have been Jon Walters biggest fan. He said after our game at Anfield. "I'm ready to take pens and it's not a problem" **** me Adam should have taken the one last week IMO and I'm sure the next time we are awarded one. ADAM will step up. JW has missed FIVE of the last 13? Pulis should have sorted it, but I'm sure MH will. We get one or two forwards in? I think Walters will be lucky to make the bench! He runs around all day long BUT, our Labrador can do that too!
I actually like Assaidi. He could be a very useful player if he gets regular time on the pitch - which he never got here. Good pace and can beat a man with some tricks just needs to work on the final ball. Like I said, with game time that might improve. Good little player for probably a cheap price.
shame we are not after Papa, hope something might be lined up for Jan for him. so looks like we are trying to do things on the cheap, what has happened to our transfer budget, we don't appear to have one, loan deal again! and Toby wont cost that much, so if we get him we would have spent a grand total of plus £8 mill ish, ****ing terrific!!
With Coates out, we need back up. We've been looking at Ilori as potential back up but if we had the choice of either Alder and Ilori, I would definitely pick Alder. He's a classy defender who can play CB and RB, and he wouldn't cost that much more than Ilori. With regards to Papa, I can only assume we're not 100% confident with his injury so as you say, we'll wait until January so he can prove his fitness. Moses is an interesting one. He is a RW so I can only assume he will be a Dowing replacement to help boost the squad. The only players in that position we have are a couple of kids in Sterling and Ibe. I still expect us to bring in a LW.
edit: forgot if we got Toby we would probably get rid of Skrtel, so probably evens its self out. are we skint?
Moses would thrive in our system. When he was at Wigan I was one who said I'd want him here, and I stick to that opinion. He is in the same sort of position as Coutinho and Sturridge, a very good player who is perhaps out of a favour, and has a point to prove. Still don't buy in to the Alda rumours, though Rodgers has said we're in for a CB to send Wisdom on loan.
I've had my say on the money issue. I'm well on record. I think the willian thing kind of doesn't give us general public much as we do not know who much we offered if anything. I hope we've 20mil in a fund some place at least but the next week will tell.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants Chelsea winger Victor Moses, 22, on a season-long loan at Anfield. Full story: Daily Mail I swear they get there rumours from here. We discussed this just a few days ago. We all agreed that he would be a good signing.
---------Adam------- Pennant-------Assaidi --------Crouch------- Shock title contenders? I agree that Pennant is pretty good but needs to feel the love to show it.
very good chance they will stay up with that lineup, but going a bit over the top with shock title contenders lol
look.... i really don't care about moses. if lfc figure out that this is all they can do now cos they want no-one thats "left" available then fine pick him up and stick him on our bench. no issue. we need a bench and if we don't want to buy him fine... but .... if he works we must have an agreed "thy don't want him" fee now. they got him for half nothing by thier standards so 5mil? at least its a fallback position if nothing else rather than be very short on options. hope for a buy, expect the loan... don't be disappointed then.
apologies miss understanding, i thought you used a whistle smilie when being sarcastic, not a question mark.
Moses is a very good player. He may not have been first choice but he could still be an awesome signing.
I would not disagree par se. He is experienced in the prem, and have power and pace but I have to say very good is a good way to put it, not top class, I was shocked at chelsea buying him but there you go. In short if we pick their pockets again off casts from the wasteful table can be gems... that's why i said agree a fee now.
