Jesus, what's with all the negativity around here today?

We've missed out on Willian to Chelsea, a team who probably have just thrown money at him. Missed out on Henri Ryan to the Champ League runners up and Costa decided to stay at a team competing in the Champ League instead of coming to us.

It's hardly like we're trying to sign mid table prem players for inflated prices, or losing out on our main targets to teams that are below us in the table.

It shows that we're aiming for that big signing this summer, someone that can make the difference now that we've built up a decent squad. Plan is build a squad, then each window you only need to add 1 "big player" and then replace any one that leaves.

That's what United have done over the last 20 years, build a squad then spend big on 1 player each year to improve the squad.

This is the most interesting of the new rumours for me too. Fits the young, affordable, talented model as well.

We have easily saved that in wages this year so don't see it too much of a problem. Plus it's 10 million less than we were going to pay for willian

After all the ****e this summer, if we end up with Eriksen and Sako as last choice i'll be over the ****ing moon.
Only question would be was why the were last choice rather than first.

I think Sahko would be a fantastic signing the lad is fantastic.

The attacking players we have gone for previously are far better than Eriksen and tbh I prefer Ljajic to him as well. There's a reason why not one club is interested in him despite him doing a Suarez and whoring himself out to Europe. It looked like BR didn't need a defender until Coates got injured so I'm not too unhappy about us not going for a defender until now.

  8. Eriksen was my top choice and I'd be ecstatic if we signed him

    **** that mate

Why doesnt anyone else want him after all his whoring himself out?

  13. No idea. I'm convinced he is at a stalemate and needs a move to progress and I am equally convinced that if he makes that move now he can become a top star.

When discussing this in the past, I've referred to us signing Torres; full of potential for a few years, holding their respective team together as the star and in desperate need of a move to a bigger club/league. The only difference being, Torres was captain and star of the A.Madrid team whereas Eriksen is seen as a top player but part of the team, they both need(ed) a move to progress his career to the next level.

I am convinced that should Eriksen join us, he could make that step up to the next level much like Torres did. I'm not saying he could become one of the best in the world like Fernando briefly did, but he could become a very very good player that would help us get top four IMO.

The only downside I see is that Coutinho would have to continue playing from the left.

I want to know why BR hasn't shown interested in him, something he knows that we don't maybe?

    Good post <ok>

Cant argue, rem when Torres joined us i was excited even though everyman and his dog was saying he'd flop

Rem when Rafa came too (look how different he looks now!) was soooooo excited about that. A lot to do when Valencia destroyed us in our own bk garden

I really dont know much on erickkson, know a few utd fans want him though

  16. I didn't know who Rafa was when he joined so didn't know what to expect. However, I had seen the media link both him and Jose to Chelsea so thought "he must be alright" <laugh>

I had followed Torres' career prior to him joining us but got to say, I wasn't convinced he would make it over here, especially considering his goalscoring record in what was at the time a weaker league. He had failed to deliver at a couple of international tournaments too. However, when we signed him I was over the moon, not only because we had signed a top rated player but also because he had been linked to Man Utd for two or three years previous <laugh>

Eriksen, I am convinced, would make a similar impact.

Thats always sweet mate <ok> I rem arguements at the time between Mancs & us. He had an LFC tattoo or something didnt he?

I always trusted Rafas signings, even though he had to take gambles on a lot of them (down to money again) he worked under bad owners and carried our fight

Them pair (Gillet \& Hicks) needs stringing up, things wouldve been so different you know had they not fired señor Benni

Eriksen would be a good creative buy. Would mean Coutinho would be pushed out wide however he can still be influential out there and also be good to have a 2nd player to take the strain off Coutinho if he's having an off game or gets injured <ok>

guessing you are referring to the armband incident, where it slipped and showed YNWA.

we are making progress, just slowly.

get in Sakho and get rid of Skrtel, be happy with that.
