Depends on the price, Newcastle won't let him go for cheap and I wouldn't be happy if we spent any more than £8m on him tbh. Would prefer Cabaye tbh
In the clubs current position, if we have the option of... Player A; a world beater but only available for 30% of the season or Player B; a good player who is reliable, consistent and very rarely injured ...I'd take Player B every single time! However, in the position of Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City, etc, I may go for Player A because they have a bigger squad that is able to cope with the loss. HBA is a Player A Wouldn't want him on a free!
Not doubting the boy is quality, but £110M, that's outrageous in the current financial climate, esp. in Spain where the **** really has hit the fan. Its not only a bad bit of business from Real Madrid, its immoral!
how do you know an article is a fkae in the press? well one line thats a give away is "are set to win the race" any more? "step up their interest" "In talks" anything with "next week" in it "
Think we should offer £1 more than what arsenal offered for Cabaye, Newcastle won't take it and if we do it a day before Newcastle play next then it'll really piss off Pardew
think we should offer spurs 50mil+1 for bale and be done with it... i mean they are close to financial disaster if real don't buy him.
According to Ben Smith (I know) Spurs are close to Lamela too. So we can rule that one out too. For a team not in the CL, Spurs have bought the best out of all English clubs this Summer, maybe better than any other club in Europe.
URgh this is a crappy quiet window really. I didn't think we'd get 4th but with an extra couple of good players there would be hope. There is no way in hell we can finish ahead of city, united, spurs and chelsea. let alone the gooners. Another year without CL, and another summer where it's even harder to attract the best players
Would be funny, but Levy is too shrewd an operator for that to happen, I assume the deal for Bale is signed and sealed (not announced yet) and only after that he's gone and spent the money on these new signings, which in effect have cost them nothing (zero net spend).
If they get Willian and Lamela then they've spent better than Chelsea and some could argue maybe even better than City.
