Not a bad emergency buy for 10 mil! I am not sure why they are not after players like Benat from Betis, Valbuena from Marseille, etc those players who are quality but won't cost that much if Wenger is so worried about the market?
That's what Wenger used to do; buy 'good' players from lesser CL/Europa cup teams and turn them into quality players. That was his big strength imo and he's gone off track lately aside from Cazorla. Now the fans pressure him to buy big names only so I can't see that going well. They'll miss out on the good players he would have got and waste time chasing white elephants.
Just from Marseille alone, N'Kolou, Andre Ayew, Valbuena, Mandanada(sp) Lyon- Gourcuff PSG- Sakho Spartak Moscow- Rafael Carioca(DM), Tino Costa ( just moved from valencia). Valencia- Mathieu (CB,LB), Banega Just to name a few and this goes for us as well by the way. Not sure why we don't look at some of these players. Again, same for us imagine plugging those players in.
He used to buy players like Henry, Bergkamp ( both not setting the world alight!), Petit, Pires, Reyes, Ljunberg, Toure, Lauren, wiltord, etc.
