we're -4.5mil, not including the fact that mig was a direct swap for Reina, who hasn't been sold. So more like -15mil. We need to spend some money on quality. We haven't got enough to get top 4. BR always says the same guff about "2or 3 more quality signigns". He said the same last year and then tried to get Dempsey on the last day of the window

Yes it Groundhog Day. The willian talk is BS there is a possibility on a LB but even then he's only a squad player.

    no... we are about even.

    I did this already.

    in
    minger 9 to 11
    alberto 7
    aspas 7.25
    toure 0

    total 23.25 to 25.25

    out
    carroll 15.5
    shelvey 5
    downing 5
    spearing 1.5

    total 27

we are either 2.25 mil in the black or 4.25mil depending on mingolet's actual fee.

We know nothing about loan for reina.

Reina's money next year is next years money, that another financial year.

In reality we are trying our best to balance the books that's my theory and honestly i think we are looking at 6th... just perhaps we will or won't get those players in. the only proof really is in action, not in words.... so we'll know the score on sept 3.

    Just read this - http://www1.skysports.com/football/...l-only-leave-ajax-for-a-champions-league-club

Apparently Eriksen won't leave for a club that isn't in the champions league and fighting for the title.

In my opinion he'll end up staying where he is if thats what he wants because the very biggest teams won't buy him, because if there was interest then bids would have been made by now and he would have been chased by a whole host of clubs.

A possible realistic target for Manchester United, they need a creative mid, he's young, wants a top club, not mega bucks, would sort of appease the fans for a while too?

I think maybe what is putting people off is the way they are openly saying that if he isn't sold he will just renew his contract so you have to over pay even though he has a year left.

Sounds like he needs to get over himself.

  10. But that is a very simplistic view focusing purely on transfer fees. Signing a player should be considered a package, its not just the fee but also the wages, signing on fee, agent costs, etc. Same for when a player signs a new contract, it is the same package minus the transfer fee.

Mignolet will be on less than Reina.
Toure will be on less than Carragher.
Aspas will be on less than Downing
Alberto probably on something similar to Shelvey
Leaves Carroll & Spearing wages free.

A simplistic view, and you can't really include signing on fee & agent costs as have no clue how much would be, but that would still suggest we are in the black rather than red when it comes to transfer fees and wages <ok>

  12. I never said whether we will have spent more or less than MITO suggested, just that it was a very simplistic view that wouldn't provide an accurate reflection of the finances at LFC <ok>

and i've covered that topic too and even published the wages the guys wre/are on

reported 45k per week for minger v 100k for reina
Toure is not on less than carragher. oht are reported at 75k per week
Aspas is only on 30k compared to downings 70k
Aberto is actually on 20k which is more thanthe 13k shelvey was supposed to have been on.
    Carroll was on 90k
Spearing was on boot boy polish diet.

Again you are right that signing on fees AND agent fees and pay off all come into it. Its all about how those are amortised over the contract and where one of payments will fall.

HOWEVER.... wages go into recurring costs in the revenue v expenses calculations and transfers go into non recurring expenses.

Its very difficult to say but we can say for sure we are not (yet) on a spending spree are we?

its not like 7 guys in under kenny and huge optimism despite hateful names like god.. downing and adam...

Etoo linked with Chelsea following Anzhi cutting costs.

Would that signal the end of Torres with Etoo & Lukaku the main men upfront?

Read earlier that Eto'o's agent has come out and said he'll be staying and Anzhi this coming season. Can't remember where I saw it now?
