I heard we're chasing signings for two positions right now which don't depend on anyone else leaving. I presume those to be the wide forward and a LB. BR did also say a long time ago that he wanted to strengthen the defense and only Toure has come in to replace Carra. I figure a CB will still be in the pipeline and Skrtel is on hold until we get closer to a deal to replace him. Not sure we'll sign a DM as well this summer - that's alot of new players to merge into the team; GK, CB, LW first XI starters and half a new bench.
Apparently Skrtel has pulled out of international duty due to feeling pain. AND Coates came of injured today.
We won't sign willian...sorry and hope to be proved wrong but it won't happen. May get a left back and that will be it. How many players have we been linked with since beginning of July? And how many came true? NONE! I think this " working hard behind the scenes" is BS from BR . Every day there is a new link but none of them are true. Maybe we were in for some of them and circumstances stopped us signing them but I think 99% were utter tosh otherwise we would ,by the law of averages, signed at least one. As I say I hope to be proved wrong, and soon, but I don't think I will.
Why not? We've made 2 big money bids for attacking players in Costa & Mkitharyn yet didn't get to speak to either. So shows we have the money to spend and are looking to add.
But they didn't come and ,as you say, didnt get to speak to either. I'm not saying its through lack of money but I don't think at the moment we are attractive to players of this quality already paid a fortune.
I don't agree with them but maybe thats a good reason for loaning players, no long term commitment? Can always build in a option to buy too.
Anzhi are turning a new leaf though and are looking to set the bills back into the black ( since they started they have spent millions upon millions and won nowt. They are getting sensible now). Lassana Diarra, Willian, and even Eto'o are all on the chopping block should a good bid come in. Lacina Traore would be boss as well but is not a BR type of signing unfortunately.
That's as maybe but players like these will be in high demand and ,unless we offer silly wages which we won't do, they will be enticed elsewhere. I feel that we need CL football but we need players like willian to achieve it so its a bit of a catch 22.
he is only on 2.5 mill euros a year, we could better that and make it atractive for us, plus he has allegedly had good words to say about us and siad Lucas speaks highly about here. think its roughly 40k ish converted
Willian 40k a week? Can't see that being the case, they were paying huge money in Russia for all these players. Thought he'd be on upwards of 100k?
That would make more sense. £80-£100 grand a week ( bloody obscene isn't it when you think about it)
http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/afp/130201/football-anzhi-shell-out-shakhtars-willian-report That does say reported 2.5mil euros annual salary. Not sure how true it is but if so it's encouraging as we could double it and still be paying a about 80k a week which is well within our budget.
All recent reports are saying he's on 100k a week at Anzhi. James Pearce: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/reds-contact-anzhi-over-interest-5718825
wouldnt you be more worried if you lot did, as that would almost certinaly mean bye bye Bale, unless you would be happy about that, as you have brought some good players to be fair and selling him will just even the books.
