Liverpool have tabled a bid for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa. Punto Pelota says Arsenal are also keen on the Brazilian, but it is only Liverpool which have so far made a firm offer for the striker. Atletico directors met yesterday to discuss the offer and whether they could afford to lose Diego Costa after selling his former strike-partner Radamel Falcao to AS Monaco last month. Diego Costa is aware of the Reds offer and keen to speak with the Premier League giants - with Atletico's approval.
I would love this one!!! LIVERPOOL are on red alert for Andre Ayew who has expressed a desire to hold talks with the club. The 23-year-old, who had previously rejected his desire to leave the Stade Velodrome has had a change of heart after being played out of position. Marseille's president Vincent Labrune emphatically stated earlier this week that Ayew is not for sale, saying: "Let me be clear: I am counting on all the players who are here." A cluster of clubs including the Reds and AC Milan have been keeping an eye on Ayew, and it seems the Ghanaian is willing to enter into talks. Ayew stressed his desire to join his childhood club Liverpool last month. "It's a league (the Premier League) every player dreams about," Ayew said. "I speak English, and the English league is the one most followed here in Ghana. It's true that I have a real preference for England. "I have a little preference for the Reds. I've always followed them ever since I was little, Liverpool, and Real Madrid." Ayew weighed in with nine goals for Marseille in Ligue 1 last term.
Please no to Costa. We're about to get rid of a controversial forward in Suarez, we can't go bring in an even worse one!
Wrong! He scored a load of goals at the start of the season and signed a new contract just before the Jan window, hence there being talk about us signing him and/or Sturridge! He hardly did anything after signing either.
Liverpool's 19-year-old defender Jack Robinson joins Championship side Blackpool on a season-long loan. England Under-21 international Robinson is set to make his debut in Saturday's opening game of the season at Doncaster Rovers. As part of the agreement, Liverpool will retain the option to recall the player after 28 days. Robinson has made nine senior starts for Liverpool.
Sounds like a player who thinks he's better than he actually is? He's good, and could get even better, but he needs game time not training and he won't get much game time at all at LFC this season. Good move for him really. Come back next year after a full season playing and fight Enrique for the spot.
