£50m and Torres back, keep in mind that the Chavs are filthy rich and that Torres' form atm is gash, it may change if he were to come back but we can't know that for sure, so I'd say £50m + Torres if we were to do a deal involving him, I'd rather we didn't include Torres though and instead we say £60m with just Suarez or £52m + Bertrand.
**** taking Torres back if there's any deal with Chavski. He's long past his best and especially not after the way he left. Don't want him anywhere near the club on a personal level or on an ability level. If the Chavs are interested, they can have him for 60. If it's a direct choice between them or Arsenal, it's them - simply because they're nailed on top 3 already. But it's unlikely anyway.
I'm going to play ball here (translation: £50m and Torres is optimistic) and say, if we went for that deal we would have £50m to spend but no wages. Effectively, an average wage is around £80k for a top player, thats near enough £21m over five years. So basically, it would give us enough money to sign one quality player with Torres (or Bertrand) taking up Suarez's wage. Edit: and just in case people missed it in my original post posing the question, I don't want Torres back!
Spoke to my mate. No new news really. Arsenal won't pay what we'll require. Real are putting all their eggs in the Bale basket, so probably won't come for him. The problem with Papa is still the fee they want, so it's not looking that likely at present. No new names.
This won't happen but let's say it does. Arsenal offer £40m cash and Theo Walcott for Luis, would you guys be happy with that? Personally I would, he's worth £10 - 15m at least so they would ineffectively be paying us £50-55m for Suarez, Walcott is also proven in the PL, he wouldn't be replacing Suarez, he should hopefully be replacing Downing, Theo's quick and scores goals. 14 in the league and 21 overall, that's good seeing as he plays on the wing.
He signed a contract before the season started last year, he still managed to score 14 goals in the league and 21 overall, he didn't have to play for a contract cause he'd already signed one nor did he have a World Cup to play for, so if he scores 21 goals a season without 'nothing to play for' then I wonder how much he'd score when he does have something to play for
When we were linked with Walcott I wanted him because I thought him and Suarez would work brilliantly together. So I wanted them together, Suarez as a flexible CF and Walcott as RF coming in ahead of him. The goals and assists they could get between the 2 of them is mega. If that happens at Arsenal (with Podolski as LF!!) they could push for the title (but miss out because of defensive errors). --------Arteta----Wilshere------ ------------Cazorla------------- ---Walcott--Suarez--Podolski---- Scary. My point I am making is I want Suarez and Walcott, not Walcott for Suarez. Wenger will want this to.
