Good for them indeed, I think they were in talks with Soldado even before Real had started making real interest in Bale, think if/when Bale goes Spurs will spend even more, there will be an uproar with the Spud fans if he doesn't.
It is too much for his age, but he is still top class. I just fail to see where we're going to get top class players from that are available and are also willing to come to us. Don't know anything about Luis Muriel (sp?) or that Lamela (sp?) fella to comment on whether they'd be affordable, whether they would want to come to us or on how good they actually are. RHC - no word from your mate I take it?
It will be interesting to see who we will target. BR has said there is money and he is looking for a couple of good signings who can go straight into the first team. He also says that he won't just spend money for the sake of it. I do have faith in our transfer committee and I'm sure they will find the right players. There is a whole month left of this transfer window.
I trust them too, they done well in January and so far they've done we'll in this window, we've broke even and we've got in more players than we've sold so that's good for squad depth. Just hope we are looking at a couple of top quality players to push us on so we can challenge for 4th again.
Mourinho says he only wants Rooney this sumer. Ancellotti says he doesnt want to sign any one. But Madrid have their 'one Galactico every year rule', so they want Bale. If they sign Bale they wont sign Suarez.
What about when they signed Kaka and Ronaldo (and Alonso) in 09 though? If they want a player they'll get them, im not sure they are all that bothered about Suarez to be fair
at his age probably but he is a 1 in 2 striker who could really improve them. I bet paulinho feels like modric did at spuds right now... lied to by levy... wasn't it "printed" that he was told bale was staying? Its all press made up stuff but you know... if true...
Soldado and Paulinho are two very good signings IMO, they could do with a CB and maybe another forward too though.
Ancellotti said he does not want to sign any one this summer. That is this summer. Not a forever rule. They often sign several big names on one summer, but have a promise that they will always sign at least 1, so Ancellotti has to some at least 1 player.

On the evidence we have to go off I think they're very good when negotiating with players who offer potential or who are overlooked talent. When it comes to established top tier players I'm not so sure I have the same confidence in the set up yet.
