I was assuming he would return to Chelsea anyway. Anelka is a good signing but my point was that its a downgrade on last season.
It is, but he's a signing that will be staying for longer and one that will sell a shed loads of shirts, good bit of business for someone of WBA's level, no disrespect to them.
You can't judge the seasonon points. Would you rather us get 2 more points this year but finish a place lower? Or get 5 less points but finish 2 places higher? Points total changes and at the end of the league its the position that matters not points total. If you have 3 **** teams get relegated on not many points, points totals at the top tend to be higher, but if you get 5 or 6 decent teams towards the bottom who all get around 40 points then the points at the top will be lower...
Suarez to Arsenal? http://www1.skysports.com/football/...rprise-backing-to-join-Arsenal-from-Liverpool
Also seen Chelsea recently, IF he goes to one of these clubs after all the **** he has talked about the English media, then that will be pretty hard to swallow.
you are right, its generally speaking a lesser quality league so everyone can take points of each other but it can't compete in europe. In general though the average points for 4th, first and relgation will be on or about the same. This year utd got a pile of point and the bottom two were away behind... yet utd drew with qpr... i think actually we had a high total for 4th and 5th but 2nd was not much higher... in the end you are still right point is one thing and position is another. we must improve on 7th but i think anything more than 5th is a very ambitous target. lets look at the spurs model: for the past 3 summers they have built well.... SO far its paulinho but villa has been strongly linked. those two alone would make me take pause. Last year it was Gylfi Sigurdsson Jan Vertonghen Emmanuel Adebayor Moussa Dembele Hugo Lloris Clint Dempsey Ezekiel Fryers Lewis Holtby and the scary bloody thing is they did that off the back of selling modric, VDV, corluka and kranjear... they had a ZERO net spend then before that it was Brad Friedel Cristian Ceballos Souleymane Coulibaly Yago Falqué Scott Parker again their net spend was negative. they sold coruch and the like and actually made moeny ........................... Lloris naughton/walker Caulker (own kid) vertonghen ekotto Parker/holtby dembele Paulinho villa Adebayor Bale just think on that guys... spurs have built that very tasty side out of nothing. I just want to point out the asshole who paid 35mil for carroll (comolli in my view) deserved the sack when you look it this way. The job Levy has done if him doing the buying to to be believed. All I really want to say is right now we DO NOT stack up against this team. BUT it does show what a couple of year of wise investment and a willingness to sell but a hard nose can do. We must follow the example and get the full whack for both reina and suarez. 10mil for reina is a joke and anything like 35mil for suarez is equally so. e simply must target the right players, move others on and keep the investment balanced. If we do i believe we can get back up there. this year however is too soon, only coutinho and mingolet stack up against spurs signings right now.
I can't see us accepting a bid from a Premiership team to be honest. If he goes to Chelsea will be interesting to see how him and Ivanovich get on
AS are running with it. http://as.com/diarioas/2013/07/04/english/1372966134_386192.html €40m, which is £34.2m. Lower than I'd expect, especially as it's Chelsea. £90k pw. Is he earning more than that already? Sounds like they're just reacting to the speculation about Cavani going to PSG and making it up.
Probably but we heard all this before with Torres and then he jumped to Chelsea quite quick and they started with some lowish ( at the time for TOrres) bids.
Wigan looking to loan Wisdom. Think he is good enough to play first team footy in the prem. Would prefer that to be fair.
Would be interesting to see how Chelsea or Arsenal fans treat him if it were to happen. Think we would see just how fickle football fans are. Not that we don't know already.
