I love saints to bits and always will but i have never felt more distant from the club, I fully understand and respect the need not to share everything and i wouldn't expect them to talk about Adkins or the future of our club, i'm more speaking about day to day running player injuries and the like. Everton are known as the peoples club in my view we are becoming Cortese's club.
I think Nigel has been more open about injuries recently http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19996667 as an example. Right now the club is actively improving the football club in every single area that should be important to a supporter. 30 millions spent on players 15 on a training ground, a new website, a more active youtube account, an active twitter account, jordan sibley, simon peach, Cortese's dinners. Not to mention the much documented 50% of academy prospects in the first team and constant talk of the "southampton way." Cortese may be impersonal but he has come through with his promises, and that more than makes up for his impersonal approach. Would you seriously rather have a fan on the board type scenario where the fans are privy to all the players injuries and personal lives?
Top post. Although I definitely disagree that the new website has been a positive development. I use to go on the OS daily- now, twice a month, maybe.
My totally made up rumour that I heard in my head is that NA will be sacked and Le Tiss will be made the new manager. This will be done as a way of patching things up between the don and him. Le Tiss will be happy because he will be able to get payed for doing nothing as NC will be running training, team selection and tactics.
Oh dear........we do so love rumours..........I think it strange that saints have felt the need to remind people of their policy to keep things close to their chest. Are you sure the tweet or what ever you call it, is genuine? Surely it will increase the rumours because of the silence..........
Just seen elsewhere that the relations between Saints and the Echo were poor, but it has become somewhat of a vendetta from Cortese. This is supposedly because he found out about Echo staff calling employees at MALI following Markus' death.
Another article has gone up now, a 4th today on SFC/Adkins/Cortese - still feels a bit of a dig: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/10002134.Fans_have_their_say_on_Saints__plight/?ref=twt
My biggest worry is that gomarchingin will give Nigel his Vote Of Confidence then we all know it would be the end of the line for him.
Quite possibly the worst Echo article ever. And, as I am sure many people on can appreciate, that really is saying something.
