I don't recall that figure tbh, i'll take your word for it. MALI Group implies the holding company. Of course there could be parallel splits and holding could just as well be the lowest level subsidiary. Just postulating on balance of probability.
I was looking at the company accounts when it became known that Cortese had exited the board back in the autumn (can't find them now; they were the Swiss company listings, if anyone else can). The subsidiaries have names that include Mali, but are not the holding company itself...there was a liquidation specialist appointed to the board of both Mali and the aforementioned subsidiary, expressly to handle the latter, best I could tell.
Not much original content there, haha. "According to...." "One source said....." "It is reported that...."
Mali International is the biggie though isn't it? Calling one part Mali Group doesn't mean it is a group at all. Its just a name and our natural abilities of assumption lead us to think Mali Group must be the name of the company at the top.
as far as I can tell there is no actual company called mali group and either Mali Holding AG or mali international ag is probably what was meant by it and lost in translation MALI International AG Wylerrringstrasse 36 was set up in 2008, probably at the same time MARKUS LIEBHERR INTERNATIONAL AG (set up in 1994) became MALI Holding AG
"Derek Llambias in the frame" - Really? Because he's supposedly touted himself to their paper... without any quotes. Righty ho.
There isn't, but explain this baby, Sapphire..! http://www.mali-group.com/ It's actually a group of companies.
Markus was an entrepreneur and interested in engineering. He could have just basked in the wealth of the family firm, but preferred to hand back his share of it and develop something himself...suggests a large private fortune. I can imagine that there would be a lot of tidying up of his affairs after his death (and before as he was known to be ill). Unless Katharina is of the same ilk as Markus, I can see she might want to simplify her holdings...a lot of projects would mean a lot of work and decision making. She has now got round to Saints...probably after a respectful time because of her father's personal interest. We have to wait and see.
Just been over on Saintsweb (figured it might be safe by now; boy, is Barry a dog with a bone), someone mentioned Markus's nine year old grandson is a fan and sometimes comes to matches. First I've heard of him...blimey, the Leihberrs are secretive. Any truth in this?
We only just got a photo and an age so far. Did you notice a wedding ring Fran? Girls are good at spotting things like that
Pretty sure I read that a couple of the MALI. groups companies were liquidated . Would not blame her for taking the money to help her Fathers. companies .
I caught the end of the discussion about Saints on Sunday Supplement....someone may have caught more of it. Was a pretty sensible discussion...saying that at the moment no one knows what KL's plans are, but they suggest that she may not want to put the large sums in that will be needed to reach the Champions' League (love the fact that no one laughs at this any more) and this may have been the cause of the rift. Pochettino may be looking now for another job, whereas he may have been happy to stay with Cortese and his ambitions. They reckon players won't be as affected by the loss of a CEO as by the loss of a manager. Talked about Shaw with pundits split between keeping players to make Saints more saleable and selling them to make the books balance better...adding that we are safe this season. Suggested we may keep Shaw for another season then sell him to raise money for the team as Spurs did with Bale. All agreed that Mauricio was a good manager and he might find himself in the position of getting Cortese back if he waits.
