I think the same about Simpson, could make a quality player, but he's not doing it now and there's no point hanging on to him else he never will, it's just not happened for him here for whatever reason, but this season has shown he is technically a really good player just the chances never really fell to him and the odd one that did he got unlucky with. Had a few good saves to keep him out to be fair. About the contract you're probably right, if he'd been offered officially and refused the club would probably have said that and would look better on both parties aswell I'd say. Just find it astonishing that he wouldn't have been offered anything given the massive part he played in our season ahead of other more expensive options, so Bruce clearly likes him as a player. What I was getting at is Bruce probably sat him down in his office and said something like "Look we can offer you a years deal on a small wage packet but you're probably not going to get much playing time at all" and they decided not to bother. Jay probably wants to get back down south anyway so why would he want to stick about up here in hope for a few minutes here and there in the closing stages of games in the premier league? He could easily be playing week in week out for a mid table championship side closer to home.

Reports stating Olofinjana cost £6m in wages, which suggests £28.5k. The HDM reported Simpson on £11k last year. The likes of Bradley, Cullen & Devitt will add up to at least £5k. Leaves £15.5k (and probably a little less) for Dawson and McKenna, so my £6k-8k guess for them can't be far off. "the Brazilian"? What did I miss? When were we linked with a Brazilian?
Wellinton is has been an unused sub for the majority of his loan spell, so we may have a chance if he wants Prem football and a starting spot.
