of course he is, he's a product, as plastic as his 'oh we were sooo poor' background. Marketeers work by the 'you can fool some people all the time' principle, and then they wait for the sheeple to swallow it like they swallowed sunny dee-lite.

This was in my country over the weekend but unfortunately I am working in a neighboring country at the moment. I am so sorry I missed that event.

The car football match, in which Barbados defeated England 6-3, proved to be one of the most entertaining and well-received events of the day.

LEWIS HAMILTON may be accustomed to winning Formula One races. But over the weekend, he definitely won over the hearts of Barbadians at the Bushy Park circuit.

The Top Gear Festival may be over, but for those who journeyed to the St Philip race track on Saturday and yesterday, the memories of Hamilton’s spectacular, impressive and skilful driving displays will live on forever.

An evidently bigger crowd turned out to see the 29-year-old 2008 Formula 1 champion in action yesterday, the final day of the Top Gear Festival.

Spectators would have particularly savoured the showdown between Hamilton in his Mercedes AMG Petrona and Global Rallycross Championship (GRC) driver Ken Block, in his 600 horse-powered Ford Fiesta ST, which left spectators screaming for more.

They also witnessed the track’s first scary moment when Block’s car overturned during the GRC finals, pressing all of the emergency services into action.

When the American eventually emerged from his vehicle ten minutes later, he was greeted by a huge round of applause from relieved patrons.

After a brief break to repair a wall damaged by Block’s collision, the crowd was then treated to a thrilling finale – minus Block – which Scott Speed eventually won.

For Stephen Proverbs, who arrived at the venue just after 7 a.m. to ensure he got a “good spot”, Top Gear was everything he had hoped for, and more.

“This is going to make one of the best Top Gear shows ever. The racing, especially the GRC, was competitive and exciting as well, and the novelty events like the car football was also very entertaining,” said Proverbs, of Date Tree Hill, St Peter.

However, he did voice his displeasure at not being allowed to bring his own food and drinks into the venue.

Kerry Pooler, too, gave the event the thumbs up.

“It was definitely worth the money. I’m having a really good time,” he said.

Dawn Taylor, despite not being a regular visitor to Bushy Park, praised the festival.

She saw no issue with having to buy food from the several stalls available.

“It’s a nice show and very well organised. I was particularly impressed with how they handled the crash and the fire in the final race. There were lots of places for food, and the prices were as good as for any other event,” she said.

I never suggested that you had to change your opinion, I was merely saying that I don't think you're giving Rosberg the credit he deserves. If he was a complete slouch or had achieved nothing in his way up, then I might tend to agree, but he's not really given any reason to think he's a bad driver imo. You could argue he tends to not be able to sustain his pace over a full season, but he's got a reason to keep pushing this year and something to drive for.

He's fast, I never said he wasn't, he's just only fast with a clear track or blue flags.

That's not fair Miggs..... If you said he isn't as ruthless as he should be at times then I wouldn't argue, but I think Rosberg is a great racer. Maybe he needs to shake off the Mr Nice Guy image..then people will cuss him...

And though not a popular opinion, he's having to test his metal against arguably one of the best wheel to wheel racers in Hamilton. I'll grant you that Hamilton did make Rosberg look a tad naive at times in Bahrain by inviting Rosberg to take the pass and then immediately retaking him. But if Rosberg can sort that out, Hamilton has a fight on his hands.

I think the issue with Bahrain was more to do with who was the lead car. As team mates the golden rule is not to take each other out, you look foolish, it creates team issue and will normally result in financial damage both on and off the track - car damage and less constructor points. I think that a driver/person like Nico would weight that more heavily than personal gain - had it been the other way round I think it would have been different and I'm not saying that is right or wrong - just stating an opinion.

Lewis (like others past & present) will put his car on the line(*) and uses that intent as an instinctive advantage over others. Some stated that he was over agressive in his defending in Bahrain, but I think it was simply putting Nico in a position that he would have to make contact to stay infront and that becomes an unknown variable for which some will not gamble. He knew that he could force the ontrack action to a higher level because if there was contact (and either or both didnt finish) he could retort with the fcat that he was the race leader and the attempt to pass him cost the team. As people argue that Lewis is a product, so is Nico - he is a representitive of a national brand that is so important to him and his nation. The same may not be said about Lewis - he is simply on a mission to rewrite the wrongs of seasons gone by and add a further WDC to his CV.

(*) There are many examples where the race at all costs has been shown by Lewis which is why he his loved by so many. He is prepared to put his car in a passing position and give the other driver the choice of to turn in or yield. A few that stick in my mind are some of the more important ones which were important againts direct rivals or team mates.

Spa (Kimi) - The famous Bus Stop chicane incident.
Monza (Kimi) - The late 4 wheel drift/slide lunge into turn 1 in which Kimi had to turn out of the corner.
Turkey (Jenson) - TurnTheFuelDownGate - when the passed each other. Lewis again repassed into turn 1, locking the wheels and giving jenson the choice to turn in or yield.
Canada (Jenson) - Their clash on the straight is slightly different, but Lewis was coming through regardless and Jenson had a choice - although he claimed not to see him.
Bahrain (Nico) - As discussed above, the switch back move and chop off was used sveral times.

For me there is nothing worng with any of the above, it just shows that in the moment he will be that little bit more agressive and make the other driver make a decission. I am sure there are many more examples for Lewis and other drivers, but these are a few that stick out in my mind because they made a statement.
