Both need to grow up or make an attempt. Sorry for saying Lewis specifically and sorry if it wound anyone up.
Lewis making me cringe here- he is treading on eggshells in this interview making references to when he had his own strategist at McLaren rather than the shared one. He has to remember how amazing a position he and this team are in.
It was added on to his race time at the end. As he didn't have to pit to serve it (only add 5 secs to any stop he had), then it didn't matter. As he served it in the stop as well, perhaps he could have got even further up.
Roughly... "Are you friends" -No "Communication isn't important between us" "At McLaren we did things like this...." "We had a meeting with Toto and Nico said what he had to say and I said what I needed to say. That is all we needed"
How bad is Chilton? How the **** do you finish 3 laps down when you had the safety car to unlap yourself and your team mate is 2 Laos up the road in 8th? Everyone is ****ing him off AGAIN for finishing? I just don't get it.
So Nico still thinks they're friends, while Hamilton would like to drop Nico in a piranha tank. Sounds right.
I'm assuming that Lewis understands that if the lead car gets the optimum strategy then he has had that for the last 4 races? Even with the unauthorised engine setting in the last......whatever that was?
Ouch.... Marc Priestley ‏@f1elvis LH left McL without many fans in the garage because of his attitude & arrogance, won't take long for the same to happen at Merc I'm afraid.
Well Nico went back on what he said about being friends by questioning the definition of "friends". And rightly so... they've known each other for a long time but that doesn't necessarily make them friends. Nico just seems like a jolly person in general and that's why he looks happier than Lewis whether he wins or comes in second. Lewis just says it the way he feels as well but Lewis lets himself get down and thus sounds much much worse than Nico in the interviews. I personally know people with both types of personalities so nothing interesting there. They are just people. Also, I'm pretty sure when Nico says they talked about stuff I'm pretty sure that's just his upbeat perspective of what is really like the way Lewis put it, "In the presence of Toto and Paddy... Nico said what he had to and I said what I had to". Its just Lewis saying it as it is but Nico putting a happier buddy spin on it. I personally prefer Nico's jolly outlook on things but I am guilty of acting more like Lewis when it comes to such situations. Its just the way communication comes out naturally.
I'm presuming that both were told to turn the engines down to try and preserve them, but as Nico had fresher tyres and was quicker, Hamilton turned his back up without permission from the team to keep the lead.
