Simple really. Even if Vettel stayed at Red Bull, he was almost starting fresh next year. New car, new designer, new mechanics, new engineer etc, the "dream team" was no more. He was going to be at a disadvantage to Ricciardo again and another year getting beat would have ruined his stock. Ferrari now (assuming Raikkonen doesn't suddenly own him) is safer.
Newey's very cleverly designed pipe - executed to perfection allowing a maximum intake of your chosen poison.
I find it gets too hot for my liking, I had to cut holes in mine so I could use it for a couple of hours at a time.
I think, if both cars are functioning well tomorrow, Rosberg wins. I know Hamilton has been talking about how he's always had the balance wrong for the race compared with qualifying, which sounds like he'll be in better circumstances this time, but I think Nico has the genuine edge here. I suspect it'll be a formation 1-2, Rosberg regaining the championship lead, before we go onto tracks Hamilton will eventually ease away on. Praying the hurricane doesn't do any damage or cause any injuries, but I hope it brings a splash of rain to proceedings to liven it up a bit. Getting my sleep on ready, enjoy the race gents
I'm 99% sure that this race won't get past 75% distance and so we'll have half points. The way things are looking I'd be surprised if they even let them race at all. The full wets are for following the safety car on, nothing else
No points: cancelled before 2 laps Half points: cancelled before 75% Firefly: cancelled after 14 episodes Simples Agree with BLS we have a very high chance of half points given that the race cannot be pushed back, dusk setting shortly after the scheduled finish time. Could spice up the title race a little. Honestly would be perfectly okay with the race being cancelled early if there's going to be a serious threat to people when they leave the circuit.
With this weather I kinda feel bad about my own balmy 32-degrees cloudless spring afternoon....But not too bad
Speaking of which Tobias Grüner F1 ‏@tgruener #F1 Charlie Whiting just told us: If weather reports are correct, there will be no race today. More and more rain expected. Too dangerous. Just do the 2 laps and let Rosberg lead by 0.5 points! Conspiracy theories await.
About half an hour ago it was perfectly raceable according to McLaren but then the real rain has showed up and to quote Marussia Weather... It's currently happening.
