There was not a lot of mental fragility- Hamilton simply had Rosbergs number this week by a good margin. Much the faster driver and much happier in his car. Well done to him. Singapore will be a right good quali battle- lookiing forward to them being nip and tuck there. It will go the wire.
I beg to differ.... Did you hear Rosberg's voice when they told him Hamilton was closing on him quickly? Then the two big off track moments... I think he cracked. The pressure should have been on Hamilton but seems like Rosberg felt it much more.off track moments when in the lead? Two of them? By the way if he had regained the lead after the second off track moment would he be made to give up the lead or at least serve some penalty?
Maybe he wanted to see the sights, or maybe he was channeling Taki Inoue? Whatever it was, he didn't look disappointed in the drivers room after the race, you'd think after an error cost him the race, he'd be somewhat despondent?
Worth noting how Vettel is taking having an average season this year, not a sour reaction to Ricciardo having the upper hand. Nice to see. This side of Vettel people try to ignore.
You're not wrong, but suspect the reason for this is that the Ham-Rosberg battle is keeping people interested. If either Ham or Ros go on to win four WCs in a row in a dominant car, suspect similar accusations will be made.
Today Rosberg didn't get away with cracking under pressure in racing conditions, he's made mistakes many times this season when being chased. In Canada he got away with it, in Monaco he got away with it, he made a slight mistake on the last lap in Austria too. Hamilton has also been guilty of making mistakes, however today's race will give him a lot of confidence knowing that he can pressure Rosberg into a mistake. It will be interesting to see who has the first call in qualifying in Singapore because if it's Lewis then I'm sure he'd rather go out first this time *cough* Monaco *cough*
Loosewheelnut: Leads the #ItalianGP, makes 2 crucial mistakes #StillHappy @nico_rosberg I smell something here #bodylanguage http://t.co/yZBTqbOuMF
Another stat: Over the last 6 races, both LH & NR have scored 98 points each. This despite Nico starting 3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2 on the grid and Lewis starting 9, 6, 20, 22, 2, 1 on the grid. So there is a plenty hope for Lewis as long as he gets his qualy sorted out like yesterday.
havn't read it but saw the picture and me thinks Rosberg has served the punishment mercedes gave him.
Only a paranoid mind would have dreamed up such an idea.’ Indeed, why go to such lengths to fix the result when there are so many easier ways of doing it? They could have issued an order over the radio or fumbled a pit stop?
Sorry, but utter nonsense. Firstly, all they would have needed to do is hold him up in his pit stop... Secondly, no driver fighting for a title is going to willing hand points to his nearest rival.
*laughs* Oh yeah! You know, they'd likely have fewer car gremlins if they spent more time getting the cars ready instead of hatching dastardly plots.
I'm probably the only follower of rosberg here and even I think it's bullshit. Wolff has also cleared up the smiling was not synchronized with the live action.
If Nico could fake that incident, one would have to beg the question again of his doing it deliberately in Monaco, surely? I think it's worth bearing in mind E.J.'s comments about Monza being a race that Nico does not like or perform well at. I'd add that he has had a fair few issues with chicanes already, plus he was under pressure. Still, it all sets up a tantalising Singapore...
It was a case of either locking up the tyres and risking ruining them or take the escape road and keep them in good shape. He opted for the latter. That's about it really.
If that's true monza isn't his favorite then he has done a very good job. He has only narrowly been slower or matching the pace of Hamilton who is a monza Ace
Singapore is one of Rosberg's favourite tracks, and when he's not crashing into Massa or having gearbox issues, Hamilton's not too shabby around there either. Next race should be exciting. Well, for Singapore. A 4/10 at least
