Since 2008 Lewis Hamilton hasn't come lower than I think 6th place in China. I think he was on pole in his first race there too in 2007 and he DNF after a spin on lap 30. But he has had good success in China, I think he enjoys China, so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets pole this weekend.
Funny how people remember things differently, I remember him totally f**king up his pit entry, sticking his car in the gravel at about 30mph and losing the WDC because of it. not what I'd call a lucky circuit. and being outside the top 6 when you have one of the best cars isn't particularly note worthy.
A testament to how terrible the condition of his tyres were and how ridiculous the decision to leave him out was.
well then, it's lucky he worked closely with Pirelli illegally last year to make sure the same thing doesn't happen this year, isn't it? and I'm gonna paraphrase Harry Redknapp on that and say my old mum could've done that pit-stop
I think this is the real version of what happened in 2007 in China. Maybe Miggins was speaking about himself when he said funny how people see things differently. I think most people saw the below version as more accurate... I could be wrong. Hamilton's title hopes fade in China, 2007 After a masterful victory in the rain in Japan the preceding week, all Hamilton had to do was finish ahead of team-mate Fernando Alonso to become the first man to claim the drivers' title in his debut season. And as he streaked away from the field in the opening laps, that destiny seemed assured. As it happened, his fate was sealed to some degree by his pace on intermediate tyres on a damp track in those early laps. As the track began to dry, Hamilton's tyres began to go off faster than those of the pursuing Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen and Hamilton's team-mate Fernando Alonso in third place. As Hamilton began fighting for grip, both men passed him. But even that should not have been a problem. If Hamilton had finished third behind his two rivals, he would still have won the title. Instead of bringing Hamilton in to change his tyres and collecting six safe points, McLaren focused on trying to get the Englishman to beat Alonso. And when he tried to come into a slippery pit lane, he slid off embarrassingly at about 30mph. It was a quite astonishing series of errors by driver and team - but it led to a fascinating race and a thrilling showdown in Brazil two weeks later, where Raikkonen emerged as champion. More lucky for RBR really, considering that they arguably benefit from the construction change more than any other team last year.

4 back to back titles.... I don't think anyone could accuse Vettel of being a quitter. Quite the opposite.

Is Seb Vettel thinking of jumping ship now things are not bright at Red Bull? Maybe Marko's statement here is a clue that Seb isn't very happy at Red Bull right now? Just a question.
Vettel has talked for years about wanting to race for Ferrari... And next year might be the year he does it. Because he's a quitter? Not at all! Leaving RBR during the successes of the last 4 years and gifting his work to somebody else would have been enormously foolish. If he chooses to make the move next year, it might just be the perfect time to set off on a new challenge and hand the RBR reins to somebody else.
