Without a doubt he needs to up his game, but did you also hear the hypothesis that Brundle and Michael Schmidt of AMuS had? They reckoned the reason for Vettels struggles is that he has driven so long under a Red Bull feeling car with an EBD driving style that when the regulations got cut to be more like the rest of the field he had had to pretty much start from scratch compared to the rest of the field who never managed to keep up with the EBD and had to settle much more driving another way. So he was in effect driving a car in which Ricciardo was entirely used to when in Toro Rosso for 2 years, so Daniel is driving a Toro Rosso "style" of car and has a massive understanding on how to work the tyres as he is used to it and has been able to carry on as if nothing has changed from last season and the same goes for his engineers who will have a massive catalogue of what works for Daniel set up wise. Vettel though has pretty much started back in 2011 when Pirellis were first introduced and drivers had no idea how to use them and apply them to their driving style. Vettel was just so much better with the EBD that he used it to devastating effect which the rest couldn't match and masked how good he was with the tyres when compared to other drivers. So now the EBD is gone a whole new setup is needed for his driving style which could take almost a whole season. This is a 4-time world champion having to learn how to drive again and build an understanding again and anything he collected for those 3 years of an EBD car mean nothing now and probably the major reason why Daniel was picked to come in to help Vettel adapt faster than somebody like Kimi. People might point out to the EBD as the single entity, but the whoe situation is much bigger than that.
lol at complaining Hamilton hasn't won every race. I wouldn't be surprised if you're complaining come the end of the season because he only won 18 out of 19. boring?!! he deserves to win them all!!!...for some reason...
Well he deserves it more than Rosberg and that's pretty much all the fight for the win looks like its going to be this season.
Finally woke back up, jesus that was a bad "race". First off, where to begin with the Sky coverage? I'll put it simply and say they make ITV's old coverage look professional and unbiased. Secondly, i'm giving it until the middle of the season to improve, or i'm done with F1 for this year. I thought Vettel's domination was bad, but this takes the cake. At worst, the RBR was only 1 second a lap faster than anyone else, and was still lousy in a straight line so it could be overtaken, this Merc is just ridiculous, and it's totally ruining the spectacle. Thirdly, if that is Kimi in the photo above, then i'm sorry, but even with him being my 2nd favourite on the grid, he needs to piss off if he can't be arsed. He's taking a seat that someone like Hulkenberg deserves, at least Hulk will try. And finally, Hamilton's clinically insane fanbase are going to do their utmost to portray him as an all time great, just because he has a car that is roughly 2-3 seconds a lap quicker than anyone else. I'm fairly certain even someone terrible like Sakon Yamamoto could get a podium in that car.
This domination is a farce. The intermediate times are what (+2secs) per lap to anyone? Puts the Ferrari and Rbr domination into perpective. The rules manufactured in Mercedes favour and the publicity hype /sky broadcasting is ridiculous in tryimg to mull it over. But Hamilton is matching his machinery so let him have his time in the sun. I wouldn't complain!!!
I called it last year, i said that the new rules were designed to benefit Hamilton, and i got called out for being a Hamilton hater. Cars that just happen to suit his driving style, engines that just happen to suit the Merc etc. It's complete bullshit. The idea that this hack is going to break the record for wins in a season just makes me sick.
If he didn't complain over the last 4 years about Vettel's car being the best then I wouldn't be as I am tbh, after him saying something along the lines of Vettel is only winning because of his car then that's why I don't think he deserves anything out of this season. But hey, pressure is on him to deliver, if he doesn't then I'm personally going to laugh right in his face one day
Well the hype of Lewis would have come whoever dominated in a car like that, the media like to overrate performances to vast degrees and make them look magical when really it was pretty average in most events. When Vettel was dominating I won't deny it (and as Seb would of as well) that some drivers did better with their equipment than he did through the years, yet he kept getting pole, even if going wide on the rumble strips at times though it was debatable that he was doing it on purpose for better exit speed rather than mistakes. The same has been with Lewis' qualifying runs in Malaysia which was a banker lap and he was losing to Vettel without that engine power advantage on the two long straights and ****ed up his last run which almost lost him pole even though it was clear he could of pulled close to a second ahead of Seb. At China you can see the pole lap he did was also very average by his usual standards when at the end of his McLaren career he was faultless on most Saturdays. He made a significant mistake on turn 10 which compromised his exit on the long straight by easily 3-4 tenths as he said and produced a pretty lack lustre second sector as a whole with wasting traction on wheel spin before that in which Ricciardo was ahead of him by almost a tenth until it came all about engine power. So in my opinion Daniel did a much better job than Lewis on Saturday to get within 6 tenths. Kimi is probably fed up with all the Ferrari shuffling internally and is probably thinking "same old ferrari, same old Luca" and that he knows Mercedes are going to dominate the year and Red Bull will likely be the second best team.
