Lewis Hamilton bit back with an important win for his title hopes, Rosberg lacked confidence in his car. And Ricciardo rued the Redbull pit stop failure. Ferrari looked like the same 2008- cumbersome Ferrari but Force India and Sainz continued to flourish in the principality. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Number of times held 52 First held 1961 Most wins (drivers) please log in to view this image Michael Schumacher (7) Most wins (constructors) please log in to view this image Ferrari (13) please log in to view this image McLaren (13) Circuit length 4.361 km (2.709 mi) Race length 305.270 km (189.694 mi) Laps 70 Lap Record: Barrichello (2004) 1.13.622 10TH JUNE FP1-3PM 10TH JUNE FP2-7PM 11TH JUNE SP3-3PM 11TH JUNE Q-6PM 12JUNE R-7PM *All times are (BST) Predictions Championship x4 St. Slicks of Stoneham x3 AbsolutelyGlorious x2 SgtBhaji BLS Eternalmsc x1 DHCanary Sportista PaulK Wrathmonk ElBando AllsaintsChris Eddie_squid Happyal JonnyBaws Dell Boy Ched999uk Quagmireuk
Woo! I'm on the board at last! Gone for Hamilton, because of momentum and being good round this circuit and that sort of thing. As long as he doesn't bugger up his start he'll be fine. Don't think the Red Bulls will be quite as close here, but we will see.
Hamilton easy here. No other driver has a case do they? Mind you if it rains anyone can win it. Still remember the echos of 2011.
Gotta agree with you guys... Hamilton will be full of confidence after that win... He loves this track... Its a power track and should feed right into the Merc's hands.. If he gets Pole, car is reliable and he doesn't botch the start, he's not going to lose this race. Should be good race from P3 downwards though, Ferrari and RB are well matched, the FI and Williams too and TR and McHonda could have a wee battle too.. A bit of rain you say, aye, that wouldn't go a miss either..
I also think Hamilton will take the championship lead in a major swing. Wiping that smug look off Rosberg
Gap is 24 points now? Won't need a DNF for Rosberg to lose that... Should the Red Bulls continue to improve and Ferrari up their game, if he has a bad quali or two.. he could be single digits in the lead, if at all after Baku.. That's assuming Hamilton wins those GPs.. Lots of Ifs ... I know
What's with all the Rosberg hate just because he's beating your beloved Hamilton. Just remember him letting Hamilton though the last race is only reason the championship is this close so far.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't consider Rosberg to be on the same level as the top drivers. While he has driven well under no pressure this year, the misfortune and cock-ups of others (not just Hamilton) have made it easy for him so far. As for Monaco, he was asked to move for Hamilton because for whatever reason he was much slower. The decision was vindicated when Hamilton was in a position to capitalise on Red Bull's pit error to win, almost lapping Rosberg in the process. Hard to argue that Rosberg gifted it to him, more that in staying in front of Hamilton, Rosberg could only have ruined Lewis's race rather than saving his own.
I think Rosberg allowed Hamilton past mainly due to Spain. Nico is currently negotiating his contract extension, can you imagine it being renewed if there was another coming together? 'Rosberg could only have ruined Lewis's race rather than saving his own' Very good point, very good decision for the team. Nico showing he is a team player
I'm guessing Bando's comment was tongue in cheek - channelling the great man in his new avatar. Well played Bando.
Correct, he's out to win it. Vettel is the same, Schumacher was too unless it was part of a plan which meant he would still ultimately win (Jap 97 etc) It's what makes winners. They're not in motor racing to be nice people and adored by all. That's why they polarise opinion.
Can't see past Lewis here, only thing stopping him would be a car problem or a Lewis problem. Fingers crossed for a Lewis problem and for him to blame the team again
Lewis has to be favourite, but I still think this is a track that could throw a surprise with the different tyres and the likely safety car.
