Natural speed is the main factor in some sports, like athletics, but Formula 1 drivers need to be consistent and manage the whole package. Alonso is possibly the prime example of a driver who gets the best out of any situation without being affected by emotion, over-confidence, etc. And even he gets it wrong sometimes...

In an ideal world, Nico and Vettel will get great starts, and Hamilton will be punted off by Magnusson

BS red flag, stewards already helping Hamilton.

They could have cleared the debris under the safety car

I would say it hinders him a little, Vettel and Hulkenberg are the lucky ones, they gets to have another go at starting.

As coulthard said early on. They don't have the recovery vehicles on areas of the circuit where few crashes happen. **** it, carry on racing and leave the Ferrari where it is.

    Superb reactions by massa.

Coulthard thinks it's down to not having recovery vehicles close to that section along with quite a lot of debris. Could also be checking the barrier to see if it's safe.

This is why we don't want standing restarts!

Can only assume there was too much debris across the whole of the track for the cars to find a safe way through.

With the tyre issues of last year, the last thing they need is high speed blowouts caused by cut tyres again.

Rumours are that the race will start behind a safety car

Raikkonens impact was mighty. He was limping and needed a hand from the Doctor. This wouldn't be happening if the Ferrari wasn't a bag of ****. Cheers Saints and Chris for your answer. Barrier is under repair.

A bit silly from Kimi. Once he went over the bump there was nothing he could do, but he should've rejoined the track earlier.

    Bianchi has gained 2 places!

Why is it being started behind a safety car? 1st lap accident producing red flags = restart
