Me thinks Hamilton will just take him off the start line as seemed to happen pretty often last year when Rosberg was on pole and he was next to him.
Good point. Clearly they've messed something up though for that speed to have registered, could be that both the speed gun and the timing beam are in the braking zone. It could be that all of those speed traps are at the end of the sectors, because you'd expect the first one to be at the end of the pit straight, in which case it should be the same as the first table.
And yet the Toro Rosso's outpaced McLaren by about 1.6 seconds. I hope for their sake they were sacrificing a lot of downforce to hit that speed figure.
To be fair, Hamilton doesn't need to overtake, he can take second and stay in a good championship position. Though I expect him to pressure Rosberg and try force a mistake.
You wouldn't want to be following a car through turn three to many times so unless Hamilton gets Rosberg off the line I thing taking 2nd is the most likely option.
Pretty much.... but second will work. If Rosberg tries to push Hamilton backwards though, he might just end up losing out. We'll have to see how it pans out. Much needed pole from Rosberg on the back of a good race. Maybe he's found something.
Rosberg is 0.7km'h faster than Lewis on the staright. Clearly Merc favouritism by giving Rosberg the better engine. Hope the FIA intervene. (well, nothing else to talk about really!)
Overtaking's going to be pretty much impossible here as long as Rosberg keeps it tidy through the final chicane. I'd be disappointed if he didn't try to back Hamilton up, he needs every point he can get, if Vettel can snatch second from Hamilton it would be a bonus for Rosberg. If he can beat him in Monaco again he might be able to apply some pressure on Hamilton.
I know they don't direct the feed, but it was on screen, nobody spotted it. Nico appears to have driven away enough already to have wrapped it up.
Just seen replay of start from Sainz and he had camera looking at front wing. You can clearly see it bend back to reduce angle at end of start finish straight and then when he brakes the wing diver forward!!! Shows just how flexibility you can get away with.
Round the outside of Verstappen into 6 I think, yeah. My coverage is patchy so not sure if they've shown a replay, to be fair.
