I'm going to be impressed if anyone gets over £1000 pounds by the end of the season. With fake money we'll probably be ambitious and all fail.

 

That is what I am trying devise a rule for.... but it seems they will fail from trial and error.

 

I have seen this game in action elsewhere and with considerable success. In the last game I saw, there was only one person who might fit into Eternal's description of an 'all or nothing' player; and, just as is likely in real life, he eventually lost.

However, whether he won or lost; this is not the point! It is a gambling game! It is up to any player to adopt their own strategy. Some will 'play safe' with covering bets, whilst others will play high-risk in the hope of making a quick killing. That is the nature of the beast, and punters should not be treated like irresponsible children with their virtual money! It is theirs to do as they please!

 

Maybe there should be an age limit?

Well, I wasn't going to put it quite as you have, Bright; but I did consider that those who want to have their bets 'parentally' limited to some maximum, simply get their wish! But please leave the adults to use their 'v-money' as they see fit.

Starting with £20 should make it difficult to get really huge amounts going. Betting is always skewed in the bookies favour so you always have to make sure you have plenty in reserve.

I also agree with the starting sum of £20. By coincidence, this is exactly the figure which the other site used as starting v-money.

Only just got around to reading this.. I'm in but will be broke by round 3.

My luck in betting is rubbish. Went to the races in Hot Springs a few years back and managed to have money on one Horse that never made it to the gate and one that had to be shot.

I WILL NOT be putting any of my v-money on Hamilton, that's for sure. Alonso, Button and Vettel for me all the way.
