    Why ?

I completely agree that for simplicity, bets should be made in integers; but why limit a player's bet? The whole idea is that it is a players' 'virtual money' to use as he/she sees fit. If someone chooses to risk everything on one bet, it's entirely their prerogative!!

Come on Cosi, virtual money and no min/max amounts, things are bound to get stupid and hit the 6-7 figure bets, best to avoid this.

I think I'm missing your point.

I'm not sure what you mean by "things are bound to get stupid" either. If someone loses all their 'virtual money', they're out of the game because they are 'virtually broke'! The end. Therefore it's up to a player to manage their 'virtual cash' if they want to increase the chance of remaining in the game for longer.

Leave the maximum stake entirely up to the player. If they lose, they only have themselves to blame. And they will obviously know this. I completely disagree with imposing limits on one's spending because we all have different mentalities. Therefore it should remain entirely a player's choice (although I agree that any bet should be made in round units, with a minimum stake of 1 unit).

If someone gets from 20 Not606 pounds to figures with 6 or 7 digits I'll be mighty impressed. As long as its an integer I'll be happy :)

;) Yes I agree actually, a player only has himself to blame if he bets a large amount. It's only virtual money !!
I mentioned a max to keep a lid on the bets.. I think you know what I meant. Hopefully.

No. Sorry; I don't know what you meant. Perhaps I'm blind but I cannot see it at all. My whole point is that there is absolutely no reason to (as you put it) "keep a lid on bets"!

    - None whatsoever!
(At least, none that I can see!)

Basically it was to keep people from putting in enormous amounts of cash, the proportion of wins and losses would be the same with small money. There would be no need for it to be extraordinarily high.

but it could be a losing bet and they would be out off pocket.

A minimum bet maybe should be imposed

    But WHY ??

Why prevent people from placing enormous bets if they feel like it?

If everyone begins with the same 'virtual money', there is absolutely no reason to restrict what they do with it (other than betting in whole units). The whole point is that it is up to the player to gamble exactly how he/she chooses!

You'd get good odds on him being all of them ;)
I'm not a gambler by much measure and and even when I do I'm not particularly good. I'd be out after Melbourne :p

Hey, by the way, does anyone have any suggestions on how/if we can make the sweepstakes better?
