Barcelona bets: Hamilton for Pole: £2 @ 5/2 Kovalainen Points: £1 @ 40/1 Petrov Points: £1 @ 40/1 Thanks AG. P.S. I see you're playing safe on this race!
Didn't really fancy any of the race odds. I've got money on Webber for fastest lap in real life, but they were late getting the odds up for it so it wasn't included in the game this week.
I agree that the odds are not even disguised as generous this time! –So many short odds for the likely pace-setters suggests a rather cautious bunch of bookies. Good luck with your Webber bet. One of these days I may have a real-life 'F1 punt' too but it's something I've never done. I hasten to add, this is not a point of principle; apart from a few fun bets when I've been to 'the races' (as in horses), it's just something I've never got around to.
I'm not going to survive in this game. Maybe I just won't bet anymore and watch everyone else lose their money
Well AG, after qualifying, I am just £2 behind you but still with a chance of my race bets coming off! (OK, two 40:1 bets are long shots!) Come on Caterham!!
Have you calculated that correctly Silver? I think you may be pleasantly surprised. Remember that any winning bet also returns its stake. £2 @ 5/2 (win) gives £5 profit, not £3; because you have not lost your stake. After deducting your losing bet of £1 on Webber, you have a net profit of £4 – unless I've missed something.
Oh yes of course, I dont actually bet with real money so this stuff is still new to me lol. 5 pound which I won + the 2 pound I bet on returned back = 7 pounds - 1 pound on Webber giving me 6 pound in total.
Neither do I. But I've worked out that over the past 20 years, I certainly should have! (I've never been to a bookie's in my life and have no on-line betting account)
Weren't you out of money last week Silver? With just an outstanding bet on Raikkonen, who was starting 11th, to get a podium? Some turnaround.
Surely, from a bookie's point of view, they pay out on the finishing positions, regardless of penalties? Hahahaha… I just saw it… Very clever…
Did I AG, did I? Seb 7th.....................................................................................................................................................................Lewis 24th
No idea. It's fastest qualifier, so if someone gets a penalty it doesn't matter. He hasn't taken a penalty though he's been booted out, so technically Pastor's fastest qualify as Hamilton didn't actually qualify. Not sure how the bookies would deal with it, but they'll almost certainly have paid out straight after quali. As far as I'm concerned your bets are valid though, Lewis was clearly fastest today.
True, after I saw that incident with lewis' car and the very small rumours of low fuel. I would of run to the bookies trying to get my money and run.
