Can't see it being much different to that. Possibly even same as started against Leicester with Johnson LB and Mankiller at RB.

  2. As I said, Brod doesn't seem to like playing Mankiller or Moreno consistently. Maybe he can't decide which one is a better option whilst refusing to drop Johnson?

Have to agree it will likely look like that.

Moreno is the only doubt. Jose is back.

Nah, he'll mix up a winning team. Lallana dropped, Markovic to start. Allen out, Can in. Maybe Lovren in for Toure if he's feeling brave..

Yes lallana should be drop kicked.

No I expect coutinho to play in his stead and if Rodgers has any brains Gerrard will drop out as well

This is where Rodgers shows whether he is going to manage Gerrard properly or give in.

    Sat - Sunderland
    Tue - Basel
    Sun - United

If he plays against Sunderland he must be rested against Basel to be ready for United. If he is rested against Sunderland then it suggests he'll play against Basel though. He can't play both games and then against United at the weekend as well.

It would take a very brave man to tell Gerrard he isn't going to play against United next weekend.

Well the Basel game is at home, so at least there isn't the travelling to deal with.

He will def play Gerrard against United, and lets face it, even when we lose he usually pops up with a goal against them.

But then again the Basel game is very important.

If I were Rodgers I would rest him tomorrow and play him midweek and against United.

Ideally we don't need to bring Gerrard on tomorrow and we take him off after 60 mins against Basel ready for United.

Playing Gerrard midweek and again Sunday won't make sense if the United match is priority He should really play tomorrow and rest in midweek against Basel like he did against Real. However if the Basel match is priority then Gerrard should be rested/benched for tomorrow's match

  9. Rafa would have done :)

Who the **** you guys trying to kid anyway? From those three games, I predict Gerrard plays roughly 270mins!

We should beat Basel & Sunderland but I can't see us beating united. Really need to advance to the last 16 , I'd rather that the priority than the scum

    This

The Sunderland and Basel matches are both must win ones so need to be top priority for us. Both will have massive consequences.

a point against United will be better for us than for them. No point having a tired Gerrard there if he's played 90+ mins in midweek. Rodgers just needs to have some balls.

All games are must win but we have to take them one at a time... This Sunderland game has the same reward as any league game but as it is at home we have that extra requirement to register 3 points

For me this all comes down to how Sunderland decide to play, will they come to defend?

If Sunderland come for a point we could have problems. And if they play on the counter our inconsistent defence with mignolet still anxious and making mistakes we will be under severe pressure.

We need to win our home games especially against the likes of Sunderland if we are to have any chance of a CL place. A point against the mancs will be a very good point and (if they win against the saints) will slow their momentum significantly.

Each game is important and the Basel one the most important but once it's done then I really, really want a win against the Mancs!

What's relaxing? Goals on 4,11 and 47 mins for lfc and then nothing but back heels and flicks as Sunderland give up And we pop in another 4/5 goals in the last 15 to fix our dire gd?

I'd take 1-0 seeing that was my prediction <whistle>

Oh and stop thinking of basle and think of Sunderland without Gerrard playing <ok> Far too many times in dim distant past rafa did this and we got 0-0s before cl games

We can't afford to **** away points now
