Bassini said this years budget has gone up 30%. IMO this signing backs this up. CB is not a position we desperatly need but it seems Dyche has found a cheapish backup to come in and strengthen and he has been able to whereas in the past we only had money for the players we REALLY needed.
I'm pretty sure the 30% is an anomaly caused by the reinvestment of transfer funds. I'd assume that the wage budget increase is in the £4-8k per week ballpark. Same structure, the only difference being that instead of Ellington and Sadler, we have a couple of cheap and cheerful backups with a bit of experience, with a few grand left in the tank for current player's contract negotiations if necessary.
Nice to see a new face join the squad. Another experienced head which I feel is important too. I feel the younger guys will be a tad disenchanted after all that has gone on so a new experienced face will be a benefit.
That's the beauty of finally being rid of Ellington and Sadler. We can now have back-ups on affordable wages whom we might actually be willing to play.
Pleased to see a new lad come in and he is at a good age (26) .. Only thing I cant get used to is his name, evertime I read it, I think of Mirkin!!!!! and that is a wig nobody wants
Scunny lad mirfin will be ag ood buy Dyche can spot a centre half. We need to be striong in defence and work from there. Next a goal poacher Adam Le Fondre or Chris Zabroski for me.
Well, I can't be certain, but at the Scunny away game last January, I think that it was Mirfin that completely dominated Graham for most of the match. I seem to remember deliberately looking him up in the program as he was so impressive. If it is him, then I'm delighted with the signing. But, if someone shoots me down in flames by telling me he wasn't even playing, then I'm sorry!
Not only heartened by the good things everyone is saying about Mirf the Smirf I am always left smiling by Hornette and Norway's eternal optimisim.
Yep he was playing. Is that him winning a header in pic 3? http://www.thisisscunthorpe.co.uk/p...atford/pictures-11189964-detail/pictures.html
