At this moment I'd take very lucky against anyone. Credit to Van Gaal they've turned their form around and will be dangerous when we face them. Let's just hope for a win against Sunderland - then it will be up to us whether or not we beat United and get within one win of overtaking their 4th spot. Some positives from this game, some negatives. Lambert doesn't really strike me as a solution to anything other than a pub trivia question about the offside rule. Johnson was his usual self though he played alright in the second half (still caught out too often). Why sub Manquillo off for Moreno when you could have taken Johnson off instead? I suppose I know the answer is because he's Glen ****ing Johnson, but still. Lallana was good. Why buy Markovic if you're not going to use him? People have written him off after 4 games or whatever and you're not giving him a chance to fix that perception. Agger featured in 20 out of Rodger's 22 clean sheets at Liverpool. It was obvious even last year that Skrtel wasn't working. He wasn't awful today but the defence was hardly confident. A lot we need to fix. 3 points will do wonders for our confidence though.
Agreed that once morgan was sent off, he did exploit the space which was positive to see. Lambert isn't the only one to be fair. Lallana slows down play as well as Allen and Henderson. Just need to get some clever, quicker players in the team. Suarez was the master of instinct, Sturridge is quality and so is Coutinho - so there's 3 players who are all smart on the ball but not in the team. Will always be a struggle but if we keep grinding out wins, hopefully it will get better once they return (except Suarez of course).
Excellent! Then let's persist with Gerrard, Lambert, Skrtel and Johnson for 90 minutes per game while playing poorly! After all, a win means that nothing is wrong with the team, right?
Thanks for that mate I do think some of the poor decisions stem from a loss of confidence. Things flow a lot easier when you have the confidence to take a risk, or just play the ball without thinking. Skrts, although never brilliant, was really good last year - but now he's s**t apparently - confidence. Minolet, although I think is not good enough, is playing 3/10's instead of 6/10's. Sterlings finishing improved last year, but its pish now. That's I thinks confidence and the fact he's trying too hard. Keep winning and I think everybody's ratings goes up a point or two. Some players are just pony though!

Rodgers looooong interview on BT sport made a bit of sense to be fair to him, said he gave people a fair chance to play the way we were last year but it was time to change it. Don't get me wrong, he has done it 4 games too late for me but at least he has changed it.
We spent over £100m on players who were supposed to strengthen the team post Suarez. I cant see BR getting any more cash for quicker players.
Wouldn't call it moaning mate. It's better to be critical than be blind to the deficiencies and pretend they don't exist.
Just really miss Sturridge. I think we would have changed our formation a lot lot sooner as well if we didn't have 2 false dawns with Sturridge due back to crock himself again
True but I think the original point is that we shouldn't be missing Sturridge after spending all that money. I do believe that we spent well on some very talented youngsters and it will take time to adjust. But when they do, this side will be incredible. I just hope we can keep in touch with the top 4 until that happens ...
One thing that keeps bugging me - is where are Markovic, Can and Moreno? These were supposed to be good players bought in to improve us. Have they bollocks. Or at least I thought Moreno is decent - but he doesn't get a game?
Moreno came on but was shaky. Think he was told to sit and defend as didn't see him go forward once! Unlike Johnson who was obviously tasked with getting forward a lot more.
Is it being blind though...? Or is it called being happy we won...? Just because I'm criticisng the negativity doesn't mean I didn't see the problems we have. I just find it a bit **** that we won 3-1 away from home and find nearly every comment is a moan. Hell, last year we were winning every week and people were still complaining EVERY WEEK!
Odd though as Moreno is more of a wing back - remember that Riise eske goal earlier in the season? When was the last time, or ever, Johnson did that? Johnson has to go to force the issue.

Think as Sterling was playing LW so Moreno needed to stay back as Sterling wasn't offering much protection where as Lallana/Henderson were playing on the right so would offer more protection when Johnson moved forward. think was good tactics to be fair
Markovic has been taken out of the firing line because he has been really poor. But he's still a youngster and he needs game time. Can - god knows why he's been dropped. Impressive every time he's played. Moreno did look shaky today but little football over the past few weeks, and he's bound to be a bit rusty and without confidence (especially when Jose Enrique gets in ahead of you!).
True. Only reason I got annoyed really is because I logged on and saw four or five moaning about Gerrard undeservedly. Convinced they expect the 26yr old Gerrard every game
