    Ref is having a power trip. Doesn't want to be overruled by the linesman who clearly saw the foul when the ref didn't. Instead of admitting he was wrong and the lino did the right thing, he decides to just completely ignore him <doh>

    I don't get, why in those circumstance the ref has to go and talk to the linesman.

    If the linesman waves for a foul in any other situation on the pitch (a foul by a player, handball, a corner, throw in) the ref doesn't go and have a chat with him. Why is it any different in that situation? You either trust your linesman, or you don't.
