Fletcher is struggling with injuries, Borini can't play, Altidore is out of form (Was he ever in form?) & the Argentinian striker who they brought in the January window has barely played.

Limits their attacking options somewhat. Fancy us here. At home & we're in form.

    Comfortable 2-0 victory for me.

Can't see anything other than a LFC win, and a massive one at that.

I like Sunderland, and I like Poyet but I want us to nail the f*ckers into the ground on Wednesday. Send out another message, particularly to Spurs, City and Chelsea for when they come to Anfield.

Kill? No let's make them orgasm in the stands over how fn hard we reamed them.

I think we must as fans not ignore the fact that the recovery time since the last game is short. Frankly our midfield must be looked at here, can they deliver here AND v spurs

I was thinking the same, can we rest anyone here? I'd say no lets go with it and stick to more or less the same team but lets also use our brain and if we are lucky enough to be a few goals up take Suarez and Sturridge off at some point.

Worth pointing out that if Gerrard gets another yellow before the 13th of April he'll receive a two game ban. Really need to avoid that coming in to the crucial part of the season.

That is a worry with only Lucas able to cover and the fact that he's not match fit.

    Why 2 games?

Ramires and Flamini have 9 yellows too.

There's no chance of him going 5 games without a yellow so best to take it tactically.

    5 yellows = 1 game, 10 yellows = 2 games

FFS what a joke why is the punishment twice as large for the exact same rate of accumulating yellows and why the **** is it based on calendar weeks rather than games played?

Who made this system? Oh yeah the FA...

OK so Gerrard has to get a yellow on Wednesday because it's the best time for the suspension

93rd minute t-shirt saying "**** the FA" if necessary

theres no point arguing the suspension as its too many games away and we just got to play em and if he's out...

  16. The two game ban is for a second ban through collecting yellows isn't it? Ie; five yellows twice before the allowance increase. Sure ten games (after increase) is still one game

I think the date for bans is actually February isn't it? I'd need to look this up as there is some date at which the previous yellows no longer count or some such

According to the FA Disciplinary Rules if a player receives 5 cautions between the first day of the season and 31st December they will be suspended for a period of 1 match .
If a player receives a 5th caution after the 31st December they will be warned as to their future conduct.
If a player receives 10 cautions between the first day of the season and the second Sunday in April they will be suspended for a period of 2 matches.
Players from the Premier League have benefited from the change to the date of the yellow card amnesty with the cut off date for five cautions now reduced to 31 December.
Previously, players collecting five yellow cards prior to the final day in February were subject to a one-match suspension.
Sanctions for players accumulating 10 and 15 cautions remain in place as do their respective amnesty periods.
In summary Joey Barton will not be suspended for one game on reaching 5 cautions after the 31/12/2010 but he does carry forward the 5 cautions and he will face a two game suspension should he reach 10 cautions by 10th April 2011.
