Captain Positive me Saint you know that <laugh>

In fairness I don't mind the critical analysis as most of it isn't negative for the sake of it, we all know we're a work in progress, we certainly aren't perfect and I guess it helps to keep us grounded discussing the problems/potential problems ahead. I admire your positivity Saint but (and I think it was you who mentioned on Saturday) many of us have been driven into a sense of natural negativity over the last few years and I'm defo guilty of a "when will the bubble burst" mentality at times. We don't want to be seen to be too positive because it hurts more when we go back to normal <wah> <laugh>

However I also know that we are (as a group) prone to over analysing things on occasion and being hypercritical when in reality (for all our faults) we simply are ****ing exciting to watch at the moment and it's massively enjoyable being a fan again. I mean it's not often teams come away from the Britannia having been involved in an end to end goal fest is it eh <ale> I for one....just can't get enough...

everton stoke 1-1 thats 2 points gained on the everton lads... they still have to play chelsea and spurs away yeah <ok> positive enough?

anythings better than where we were but entertaining? only when the forwards got it. watching some lads fall over themselves is painful for a football fanatic.

Not going to read back so don't know peoples opinion but I though Gerrard was very good yesterday he really put a shift in and made some important tackles, his passing was a bit off but I'll put that down to the lack of games.

Also want to mention Sterlings defensive work.

    Thoughts on the game...

    Goalie/Defence below average...
Midfield stopped bossing the game after their first goal, become too open..
Front 3 of Suarez, Ford (Sturridge) and Sterling, great.. long may that continue! (Ford did suffer in the second half, maybe could do with a wee rest..)

We played Average but won, if offered that for the rest of the season we'd all take that..
Bit more positivity guys, I do believe you should learn from your wins as well as the loses but lets not try and get too anal!

The last thing you want is your bloody defenders trying to be entertainers. There's enough comedy as it is.

entertainers... or entertaining... entertainers to me suggests a david luiz approach, entertainment is for me in the eye of the beholder. sami hyppia was quite good. watching skertl getting away with murder is quite entertaining... for example.

wathicng hdersoan and gerrard falling voer and johnson standing off crosses and allowing things to happen... not so entertaining.

    Exactly what I was thinking.
Don't really need the entertainment of guessing when he's actually going to get penalised for it.
Djimi Traore was a laugh-a-minute but I want my defenders to be dull and efficient straight men, get it up the other end and let the front men bring the house down.

    Metaphor over, for the moment.
