When I saw us play Norwich in October I thought I'd seen the goal of the season.I think I may have been wrong
Great performance by Suarez, terrible performance by the team though. I really worry with the Christmas period without sturridge, I think we will end up mid table with utd.
I reckon goal of the season should be split into categories. You guys would win team goal for that one. Suarez would have a few towards the individual goal collection
I was pessimistic about our league position compared to Man Utd, I never said anything about the game. In fact, I've praised Sterling and Allen tonight
HOLY CRAPPP!!! I am in the us and missed the game. just saw the goals..... WOW... the third one was just great. the first one was just crazy.
Only 4 players truly deserved their places tonight - Suarez, Gerrard, Couthino and Minoglet. The best that can be said about the rest would be acceptable and for some of them (Sterling, Allen, Agger) that would be a bit of an exaggeration. So you can say that's pessimistic but it's true. Therefore the result - superb, the team performance - lacking
i can't tell from 4 mins of action but seeing i saw rodgers shaking his head as suarez banged in no 4 and then.... on his third way had 2 shots two goals might indicate something.
Think he was just shaking his head with wonder. It was an average team performance lit up by a handful of individuals.
I didn't see the whole match but I'm glad others echoed my thoughts - the team performance wasn't particularly that great and we relied on individual brilliance. However, I really do see Agger leaving come the summer. He had a relatively easy night but was at fault for their goal (although you could argue we should be stopping the cross in the first place). His aerial vulnerability is becoming a real issue now. I thought Allen and Sterling struggled initially but grew into the game. Allen was rusty but I thought it was solid. Sterling and Henderson really do frustrate me at times - they're not intelligent players at all. Henderson, for all of his energy doesn't know what to do with a football. Sterling constantly makes the wrong decisions as well. Thankfully, both are young and have time to improve this side of the game. Finally, thank God we have Luis Suarez. What a player - bar a burst of speed, he pretty much has everything. Now, it's inevitable that he will leave soon but credit to the club for keeping him for one more year and if he can sustain his performances, his price will definitely shoot up. To think, we would have accepted £40m from Real! That would have been criminal. I want £60m at least!
