Think I'm alone in this but I don't think Tom is as bad as people make out. Sure, he's not not of the Man Utd quality we've come to expect but he has a great engine, desire, work ethic and spirit, all things most normally respect and admire. He's certainly not suited to a central two mind.
Very true. This will be Midtable United's cup final. They'll come out of the blocks quickly and not give us much time or space. We just have to hope the referee is strong and our quality shows through on the day.
He looked good when he was on loan at Wigan and looked like he had real potential. We've seen plenty of players look good at smaller clubs and when they try and perform at a bigger club can't handle the pressure.
Loads of players come to mind. Shelvey, Adam, Carroll, Downing (sort of) that's just for us in the past couple of years. Then you have Fellaini, A.Johnson for example. All these players that performed well for their teams when they were mid table but couldn't handle the pressure when they had to perform at a 7 and above every week, rather than every other week.
Don't think its that really. Shelvey was only young at Liverpool so I don't think that's a fair one. And Carroll, Adam & Downing simply weren't good enough for us. The Everton team was built around Fellaini while he's just another cog in the Man Utd team which doesn't suit him. And he's had to move deeper than he was at Everton. I know the bluenoses used to say he was better as a defensive midfielder but for me his qualities always seemed to be aerially, he never seemed the best on the floor, just looked slow and clumsy. And Adam Johnson's best performances for Middlesbrough were in the championship I thought? Its not like he was performing in the premier league before he signed for them.
