I would think Everton would be more concerned with getting into the Champions League than merely spiting us. If you win- it's a vital win for EVERTON (it just so happens it helps Liverpool too). If you lose- I highly doubt it's because you wanted to lose... it's more likely that it's because you're Everton and that's what Everton does best. Seriously though- I will neither consider it a gift nor a personal affront. Everton still has a chance to make it into Europe, and I really hope they do (even if we fail to win the title). I'd love to see Everton snatch 4th from Chelsea... that beating City would help us is just a nice juicy bonus.
Pulis in press- trying to say we have advantages over him: In excess of- more than hundred(s) of thousands of pounds... bloody hell- which of our players are making more than £1million a week... that has to be some sort of record. Do the tax collectors know this! He really does want to be the English Mourinho... claiming we have an advantage because we have no European football... I didn't realise Palace was going to be competing against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final! Really chuffed Pulis has made that happen for them. Whew... yeah... and we didn't sell anyone either... FSG just handed Rodgers £100m and said- "here spend like a fool!" we're paying our players £1m a week- a £100m without selling anyone is nothing! Yes, we have a bigger budget than Pulis... we have more fans, more wins, bigger sponsorship... I can see him wishing he had same funds... but he doesn't half exaggerate.
Not to worry pulls will turn palace into dogs within 2 years, slavering biting rabid dogs and yet again he'll be found out. Palace fans should enjoy thier prem status but don't expect anything but neck pain from watching hoof ball
City game doesn't change what we need. We still need to win both games. Starting with Crysdull Pulis.
Right, lets knock another 9 past them
What stands out the most for me watching that is not really how good we were at scoring goals with that squad (what legends all in the team at once back then btw- I hope one day we look back at current squad with such an opinion) - but what stood out for me watching that is how crap Palace were at defending in that game. Most if not all of those goals could have been prevented with half-decent defending.
games not on until tomorow. posting on other threads, as far as this goes we could be in 3rd by end of day, but you are right we are still in it ish, ie not in our hands any more, but never know, city or chelsea could **** up again, so could we though. think its more its out of our hands now than anything, but maybe more twists and turns, hope so, first thing is to remain positive and try and beat palace and go from there.
We're contemplating how the tactical genius that is Fat Sam is going to do City like robin hood.... You know you can!!!
I think it is technically over, only goal difference being the way we could win. I don't see us doing so, but Rodgers needs the team firing tomorrow, if we could get a win and by say 3/4 goals as well, then you never know on the last day as Newcastle are there for the taking to be ripped apart. I would like us to target the chavs 103 goal tally and for Suarez to break the 31 goals in a 38 game season record. Those would be two massive achievements.
I think it's technically still possible. However we owe it to Maureen to win against Palace to ensure that his wish to be out of the race is fulfilled. We owe to to ourselves to be true to the philosophy that got us this far. We owe it to each other to show the world that we are delighted in what we will have achieved - when all the world said it wasn't possible. If we don't win it this year we owe it to those pundits who are already trying to write us off as having a one window opportunity. We did it this season so let's stick it to them again! If City do win the title we owe it to them to keep them honest in the race right to the end.
If keeping the pressure on Man City wasn't enough motivation against Palace, Chelsea drawing means we can secure second tomorrow
Maureen's been saying that Chelsea aren't in it for weeks now. It's bad psychology. When you're that near you shouldn't give up until it's mathematically impossible. Neither should we.
