I decided to stay at home, having 2nd thoughts now though after that line up


Chelsea's bench would all make our starting 11, especially on current form. Maybe not Zouma just yet, but he'll be a beast of a defender one day.

 

He really has made a rod for his own back. What was the point in allowing Toure and Borini to stay in the summer to 'fight' for their position if they are immediately dropped after 1 having a brilliant game and the other being dropped for a lazy statue of a player in a game where we will be chasing and need his energy. If he had at the very least brought Toure in, you could see that there is that option, but he has made it clear who he considers cannon fodder (no wonder the likes of Suso cant even get a look) and made it clear that he bottled the Madrid game. Not a good message to the team.

Just find it amusing at how many people here seem surprised that he's gone back to his original team almost like they felt Rodgers picked that Madrid lineup through deliberate tactical consideration! I mean, seriously, people really give him such credit? And yes, people on this board actually did say similar things to that. Only Gerrez (and myself, but maybe a few others I've forgotten - certainly not the majority) I can recall being very clear in saying Rodgers had simply rested his big players and would 100% go back to them. Others seemed optimistic he hadn't and wouldn't.

Going off Rodgers this season. Last season and the one before were great and not just because of Suarez. He made team changes and tactical changes that were actually purposeful and for a reason. Now they're all wrong and for the wrong reasons. Like I've said since the first week, Rodgers has lost the plot this season and is the main reason for our team not playing well - not all down to losing Suarez.

Anyway, suppose we get behind the team as we always do and see how what happens...
