Handball can only be given if it's deliberate, therefor what you're saying is all handballs are yellow cards, which isn't the case.

Top performers today for me in order are:

Henderson - been everywhere kept things moving in the middle had 2 assists and could have had the 3rd if Suarez had scored instead of rolling square to Sterling.
Suarez - 2 cracking goals and unselfish for the other.
Sakho - rock at the back today. won every header and every tackle and didn't see him give away the ball once. Unlucky for their goal as had to pick up 2 men.
Sterling - was brilliant in the first half and ran their LB ragged, only reason he's not higher is because he tailed off in the 2nd half.

Have to give Cardiff credit for their second half.

Potential banana skin avoided.

Sakho, Sterling and Suarez brilliant. Henderson and Allen great in the first half.

Coutinho's form a little suspect?

Quite disappointed that we didn't increase our lead. Consistently troubled by set pieces and their goals shows how one goal can really change the dynamics of the game.

Suarez, Sterling and Sakho were the best players for me. Henderson was excellent and Allen started off well but became sloppy towards the end. His pressing and energy was evident throughout though.

Johnson is a massive liability and he needs to be replaced. Absolute dross.

9. Of course they're not all deliberate. Handball is given if the hand is in a unnatural position or gains a advantage, neither of which have to be deliberate. Just in case your not aware, deliberate means they intended to do it.

Coutinho looks a bit rusty but is still such an influence in our attack - he will continue to thread perfect passes through. However, I think he is trying too hard to score and that could be affecting him mentally.

Credit to Cardiff though I don't really like teams hoofing the ball in to the opposition box from free-kicks inside their own half <laugh> But yeah, fair play to them, instead of rolling over they nicked a goal and were unlucky not to get back in to the game - they should of had about 3 penaltys today.

Yeah, what was all that about? Skrtel poor today, and lucky not to give away a pen and/or get sent off. People forgot he nearly did the same against Spurs too.

Haha I wonder why? Nor Spurs!

Noticed quite a few of ours who haven't posted in a while/regularly getting involved too.

Good stuff!

18. Shame we lost the second half but I said I'd have taken a 1-0 win beforehand so got to be happy with the result.

From FIFA laws of the game. Says a free kick is given if it's a deliberate handball (no mention of being in unnatural position). Also doesn't say that it's a yellow card for handballing, only one it would come under is persistent infringement, but not solely for one handball.

A direct free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any
of the following three offences:
• holds an opponent
• spits at an opponent
• handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own
penalty area)

A player is cautioned and shown the yellow card if he commits any of the
following seven offences:
• unsporting behaviour
• dissent by word or action
• persistent infringement of the Laws of the Game
• delaying the restart of play
• failure to respect the required distance when play is restarted with a corner
kick, free kick or throw-in
• entering or re-entering the fi eld of play without the referee’s permission
• deliberately leaving the fi eld of play without the referee’s permission

I wouldn't worry about the 2nd half, it happens. Playing a perfect game just doesn't happen very often and mistakes and the opposition having a period of dominance is just part of the game, as long as we deal with it and don't fold then that's fine.

A good team performance and 3 points, we can now go into the next fixture away at City with a sense of belief, the big pressure is on them if they lose we have a gap if they win then we're still in it.
