Interesting that Sterling drops to the bench for Coutinho. Thought he played very well against United.
Sterling may need a rest, but Coutinho is more creative if he is on form. Maybe BR is thinking start with Coutinho if he is not on his game haul him off and put Sterling on with his more basic game but lot of pace.
Got no complaints with Coutinho coming in. Nice to see the same midfield 3 that dominated against United continue to play and I guess those 2 are rotating around. Wouldn't surprise me if Sterling played against Sunderland and Coutinho dropped to the bench. BR seem to be chopping and changing those 2.
You can understand, its a tough call. Sterlings directness or Couts magic def splitting balls if hes on form
All I'd say it Sterling offers that bit more defensively than Coutinho does which is why in an away game I'd have thought he'd go for Sterling and then play Coutinho against Sunderland midweek back at Anfield. Hopefully it works though.
See what you're saying Sterling is great to bring on against tire legs So in mid do we reckon its the diamond again? -------Gerrard------- Henderson--------Allen -----------Cout--------- Full backs providing width?
Seems to be the way we've been playing recently but wouldn't put it past BR to confuse us all and put Coutinho out wide.
