I think we have to protect our back four so would play both Gerrard and Hendo deep a bit like we did earlier in the season with Lucas Gerrard. We have enough attacking talent for this to work, Coutinho plays as the link. Flanno-Toure-Kelly-Cissokho ------Hendo--Gerrard------ --------Coutinho---------- -Sterling--Studge--Suarez-
I think Skrtel will be ok, there is also the chance Sakho will be on the bench. Otherwise thats the team. It really is a must must win game, we need to start flying and SAS to get a couple each.
just hope skts and sakho are back. i have become a veteran on here ffs, what does that mean apart from feeling old lol couple of games on tele today in the cup, not sure they will be worth a watch but 12pm btsports sheffield utd v fulham and itv 3pm chelsea v stoke. stoke of old might have been a problem, but passing team now days will play into Chelsea hand sadly.
Not a great back four or midfield is it? We have been unlucky with injuries but god we need to invest. A quality DM definitely. If we're honest the only quality defenders are Sakho and Jose. Johnson is pony, Skrts is just average and always has been and will be, Agger is okay but actually overrated and always bloody injured. Toure is decent back up. This is a huge chance for Kelly to cement a place. So I'd buy a new right back and DM definitely and also a centre back, whilst selling Johnson, Skrtel and Agger for decent money.
As the thread is concentrating on the Derby then there's no point in asking for new players. Even if signed today they would not be playing on Tuesday! If we are going to sell a RB then Kelly would be the one to go as he's been absolutely pants in his appearances.
Everton are currently playing well and are justifiably challenging for top four this year. With our injuries we are clearly suffering at the back so I can't see a clean sheet. Luckily we're still scoring for fun but we need to start doing it against our direct competitors. We're at Anfield, so that's a big positive, but this will be close. Surely no more than one goal in it either way. 2-1 or 1-2. Hard to call, but I've got to back the boys: 2-1 (Suarez).
Anyone know what team everton might be able to field as a result of this weekend? i have it that B Oviedo R Barkley G Deulofeu A Kone D Gibson are out but none would play if everyone is fit S Coleman is a maybe, i am unsure S Pienaar supposed to be back. Howard Coleman (maybe) Jakielka Distin Baines Meiereles Barry Osman Mccarthy Mcgeady lukaku won't be 4-5-1 maybe 4-2-3-1 or some such but in reality when they denfed thats what it is. Right now we have: Mingolet Flanagan Skertl Toure Cissohko Gerrard Henderson sterling Coutinho Suarez sturridge We've no idea about allen yet but he's doubtful... johnson is gone, enrique is a long time away... kelly is muck.... we won't see a 3 with coutinho.. he seems to me to not be doing well anywhere but out wide left. I have to say everton have thier first choice team. we are missing what 4? agger/sahko, johnson, enrique and lucas Injury crisis? not for everton IMO. for us it smore about not trusting squad or squad players like aspas and alberto as terrible.
The wages may suggest different I'd pick a half fit Kelly over a uninterested Johnson every single day of the week too! If we sign someone before 12noon Monday then they can play. They won't but they could.
I only want to see Coutinho or Suarez/Sturridge starting on the wing if Coleman is out (Hibbert won't be an attacking threat). I think Henderson and Sterling should be our wide players for this one with Allen & Gerrard in the middle and one of Suarez/Sturridge dropping back to help stop Barry being able to dictate the game from deep when Everton have the ball.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez could potentially have new loan signing Lacina Traore available for tomorrow nights Merseyside derby against Liverpool, but at the same time the blues could be faced with having 10 first team squad players out injured. Long term the blues are missing Bryan Oviedo, Arouna Kone and Darron Gibson, whilst 6 other players not including Traore may also be missing and these include Phil Jagielka, Sylvain Distin, Antolin Alcaraz, Seamus Coleman, Steven Pienaar and Ross Barkley. The Spaniard will find out later today if Traore is match fit or requires more time to be assessed for later matches. “Lacina will arrive today and we’re going to bring him into the squad as soon as he’s ready,” said Martinez. “It’s a little early to tell if he’ll be able to make the derby or not but he’ll be working with us from today.” The Spaniard is also awaiting fitness results on 6 other key members of his first team squad and says that they are doubtful for tomorrow nights match. He added: “We’ve got a group of six players that we need to assess. They’re carrying a few knocks and injuries. Phil Jagielka had to come off at half-time against Stevenage and we have Sylvain Distin, Antolin Alcaraz, Seamus Coleman, Steven Pienaar and Ross Barkley. “We’re doubtful they can make the derby, but they’re not far away so maybe someone has a chance.” Gerard Deulofeu is also due back on Merseyside at the end of the week, but is likely to miss the Derby taking the players missing to 11

everton need to get their CBs fit is all. we are in more trouble in midfield where they can take the pressure off thir back line. We will lose if we don't manage midfield. I can see an 11 for us being put together but the midfield is weak.
All confidence I had for this game has been sucked out of me. With no Sahko now for 2/3 weeks I'd have to go something like.. ------------Mignolet------------ Sterling--Skrtel--Toure--Flanagan ---------Hendo--Gerrard--------- ---Suarez--Alberto--Coutinho--- ------------Sturridge----------- Strange line-up I know.. Reasoning? Would rather Sterling at RB than Kelly or Cissikho, they're both next to useless anyway so at least it'll give us some pace. Alberto as we need that extra body.. God we have shocking squad strength.
Yep, who'd have thought it with all the 'squad' players we have bought We need first teamers which then improve the squad as they take the positions of better than we have now Only problem is you have to pay what the selling club wants
Suso, Wisdom, Ilori, Assaidi, Borini.. Take your pick Edit: I'd play any of them five at LB ahead of Cissikho. He's that bad.
something isnt right with llori then if he cant get game time ahead of a useless cissokho. wtf did we pay £7 mill for him when cissokho is in front of him, cant work that one out.
Illori is RCB and maybe a RB but not LB. He is at Granada now so should get a lot of minutes to develop. Think he said himself next year he wants to be the starting RCB.
