Maybe as it really does play into their hands but I'm sure it will be more down to the desire to win in this game.

  2. Desire will be a strong part but 442 will give us the least chance of success. I'd tempted to say I'd play three CBs before 442 and I can't stand that system either.

Agree to a degree but it doesn't matter how determined you are, if you're outnumbered in the middle of the park, you'll suffer! So tactics have to be closer to right than wrong! <ok>

  5. Yep, we just need to get as many points as we can whilst we get through the injury problems we currently have.

I'm normally optimistic about the derby - this one feels different...

I've got a bad feeling about this...

Agree with all the anti 4-4-2 talk. If we try and play with 2 in the middle it will be brutal. If Allen doesn't make it then I'd throw Coutinho in as the most forward of the midfield three ahead of Gerrard and Henderson. Even that makes me uncomfortable as it's so lightweight but can't see another way of working it. If Allen is passed fit I'd prefer it if he were the deepest of the three behind Gerrard and Henderson. Even if Gerrard could become a serviceable defensive player (and I'm not sure he can) this is not the game to try it unless there are no other options.

Kelly was so bad at the weekend think I'd rather see Cissokho start at LB and have Flanno on the right. Also if Allen is fit enough I definitely prefer him deeper than Gerrard.

Kelly was pish... If Coleman doesn't start then you'd think with a bit of help Cissohko would be able to handle Hibbert.
Flanno to hopefully keep Baines quite and with Sterling down the right making sure we push him back and not give him a chance to bomb forward as much.
If Allen starts then I'd want Hendo sitting front of the Back four, more energy than Gerrard, Sterling for Ford, SAS on fire and with a bit of luck, 3pts come 9:45pm <ok>

Didn't see it so to those who did, was Kelly just straightforward pish or is he still doing that incredibly slow moving looks likes still injured thing?

He looked like he was thinking to much instead of getting stuck in and defending well.
