Oh boo hoo calm the **** down everyone. We are finishing 2nd in our CL group and 4th in the PL. Deal with it. #endof
So what happens in the transfer market is a total lottery and isn't governed by say......how much money you spend and who you spend it on.............f**ing genius
No it's not. It helps get better players, but best business isn't necessarily about buying the biggest best players. Saints did well paying less money than us and City.
*moot. But actually, the point is a good one. We have replaced the big time charlies you bought from us with equally (if not more) talented players at half the total cost. Tadic>Lallana Pelle>Lambert Alderweirald>Lovren
Very true. Think im just disappointed at the summer spending in general, (again) and especially so because bad buys keep players we have developed out of the side. Feeling gutted but as always looking forward to saturday, (and 20 week scan on friday.) Lifes not all bad
What? Of course it's about buying the best players and it's those who do who win. Your problem is that you've paid top dollar for ****e
That's not what he was saying T, he was just saying the same as me. That those teams didn't get the bargain excellent players this year, saints did so everyone is shouting "why didn't our scouts/manager get these guys saints did!" They aren't saying why didn't we get all the same priced players bought by all the other clubs who haven't thus far made that kind of impact for the team. It happens every year.
So the best players are always the most expensive are they? How much was Stones? How much was Michu? How much was Ba and Cisse for Newcastle? They weren't the mot expensive when they signed but they were the best bit of business.
Saints did well in the market, but their success doesn't alter the simple fact that those who have the biggest budgets invariably win. You've just done a Spurs (only worse) as Mr Clever has spent £230m and you're pants, as he's spunked the budget on crap.
That comparison doens't really stand up as Pelle was more than Lambert and is first choice striker compared to (our) third choice. the other two, you're in a better position to judge.
This is what frustrates me too. Players like Suso and Ibe offer more than what we've seen of Balotelli and Markovic, yet one is shipped out on loan and the other doesn't even make the bench most games. Even Peterson. He played really well in pre-season, looked to be a really promising quality forward. BR shipped him off for a tiny fee to Utrecht. Doesn't make sense.
Dont get me wrong Red, I'm not seeing indications that the players we did buy are top four squad players which is what I expected us to buy. Like always I give a new crop a year. As someone said earlier, without Suarez CL came a year too early (or late) we had to gamble on a lot of additions and with a normal 50/50 success rate it was not a gamble we were likely to win..... What I'm most annoyed about, is the whole team isn't performing against teams in the league, not the reals of this world..
Not what I said, the teams with the biggest budgets win, fact. Ronaldo, Bale, Di Maria, proven quality, massive price Markovich, Sakho, Lovren, Lallana - average quality, massive prices.
Southampton had no pressure this season, they sold a boat load of players, got a new manager and basically had to start again. They're playing with no pressure or expectations and it clearly shows, when the going gets tough you will see how the players will react, happening with Swansea already, had a fantastic start but haven't win a league game since August. Liverpool finished second last year and people expected for us to well, the new players coming in have the expectations of hitting the ground running or face a bollocking. Yeah we're not playing well but when players get over the fear of expectation we will see a good team.
Thank f#ck that Madrid have El Classico at the weekend! That said, we posed more of a threat with that lazy, half-time shirt changing f#cktard off the pitch. FFS, he should be dropped at the weekend, preferably off a ferry in the middle of the mersey Markovic....£20m??? I reckon those youtube videos were running at twice the speed when we all saw them!! Someone needs to remind BR that defending is an intrinsic part of the game!! Positives: Coutinho looked back in form and we need him. Sterling...again.
