Whole Premier League needs to step up. We are getting left behind by German and Spanish Football. Only Chelsea can claim to be anywhere near these European Big boys. Was so different in the mid noughties when English teams were the best about. We have been atrocious in Europe this season and to think we are doing as well as Arsenal and better than City. Completely crazy.
Mentioned before, looks to have the pace and power we lack in the middle and he's only 20 Looked the most promising in his short cameo's out of all the young signings.
Yeh very likely, why I said if he'd played them. Isco has been MOTM for me, but had Bale been on the pitch as well instead of James, they would have had another 2 or 3 clear cut chances.
I was one of the ones against it, but I can understand the risk we took. We probably wouldn't be complaining as much if Sturridge was fit and on form. It wouldn't necessarily make Balo any better, but at least we'd be less goal-shy and maybe have more patience with him. The problem is, the club took a gamble that (so far) hasn't worked, and it's been exacerbated by Studge being out.
I'd rather the PL is **** in the CL than have our league become as uncompetitive and boring as theirs though
hahahahaha 0-3 down at HT and they've had the cigars out 2nd half and you reckon that's better than anyone else in der wurld can muster.......f**ing brilliant
God damn GJ is so ****. How any of you can defend him. Gives the ball away time after time. Dordling about.
The Premier League got money when other countries couldn't match bar one of two big clubs. It meant there was an emphasis on buying in players and it worked, but because of that, German & Spanish football developed their own players and then when money did enter their leagues they not only already had the best home grown players but could afford to buy the best foreign talent as well. We, on the other hand, continue to still rely on money to sign the best players from abroad because we can't produce our own and unfortunately we aren't as attractive to foreigners because of our climate and higher tax.
I'd take your point about Bayern, Real and Barca (and Atletico to an extent), but Schalke and Leverkusen are hardly giants of the game and Dortmund are in terrible form (albeit they're winning tonight).
Admittedly Real have taken foot of the pedal, but been a much better 2nd half performance in terms of keeping the ball
Do you think they even rate the Prem? I have my doubts personally. I think it's just a myth we like to believe, but reality is most just come for the money imo.
Brilliant performance lad, I reckon that's better than anyone else on Earth could have managed like. The highlight was Bellendtelly getting a souvenir shirt at HT, lovely move
